Is Trump really as evil as the left makes him out to be?
I think people are terrified he will actually be a good president who will get a lot done, bleeding heart crybabies may never get over such an embarrassing loss which will just make things even worse for them going forward as they refuse to make the necessary changes. 2016 is to 1980 as 2020 will be to 1984, Democrats really have nobody to run that can win that they'll actually nominate. The backroom deals at the DNC are being worked out right now for who is next in line. They hate him because they fear him, he will invalidate their entire worldviews and these people who see everything in such black and white terms cannot accept that.
And that's got me worried.
Ask yourself how Trump would do in a real situation as President. If he had been President during the Cuban Missile Crisis, would he have been able to get Russia to take the missiles out of Cuba? Would we have ended up in a nuclear war? With his pompous and bombastic nature, I have little hope that he would be able to accomplish what President John F Kennedy accomplished. My guess is that the Russians would assure him that there were no nuclear missiles in Cuba and praised him for being careful enough to look and he would then let it go.
What about Ronald Reagan's presidency? He was a famous person just like Trump.
at least Reagan was governor first. The fact that Trump got elected still has my mind totally blown. Zero experience. Dubious business history. Bizarre and bombastic stances on most issues. It's like he's still on The Apprentice. He's the same guy. He wants to promote his brand, and I'm not so sure he doesn't want power as well as fame. So I'm not happy he'll be the next president. I'm just hoping that things go OK, and perhaps even well!
My 2 cents
George Washington had no experience either.

And that's why I liked it when the Donald Trump won the presidency. Trust me when I say that, over here in Puerto Rico, I grew up with hypocritical and nice-looking (both in appearance and their actions) politicians who later turned out to be very corrupt, just like Hilary Clinton and the connections she has.
The only thing that worries me about Trump is the possibility that he may have to suck-up to those racists, homophobics and bigots who voted for him.
Other than that, I think it's safe to say that at least Trump isn't gonna make things worse in the middle-east, unlike Hilary.

Trump is not going to win over the bleeding hearts as I said but he doesn't have to, he will win a landslide in 2020 without them. Democrats have shown no signs of contrition or willingness to change so more and more people will reject them, why would the trend change in the Midwest? What people don't understand about the Midwest is apparently is that while it was regarded as this 'blue wall' it has always been deeply culturally conservative but voted with the interests union but those unions don't exist anymore or their political leadership is totally disconnected from their rank and file so once the economic reasoning it will be very easy for to flip these voters who are already with conservatives on most issues. If Trump can win over more minority support and I'm only talking about like 20% of the black vote or 40% of Hispanics, he'll be unbeatable. Fairly modest gains, not impossible.
All Trump has to do is take a page from Bill Clinton's book and practice triangulation, Democrats are completely lost and that would take most of any wind out of their sales and already has to be honest. Just take certain Democratic policy which are good ideas and present them as his own, it will be very hard to oppose that strategy. Red state Democrats are becoming an endangered species, the national party seems determined to ruin their chances in the middle of the country. Really have no idea who they run in 2020, they're in big trouble if it's retread and I don't see anybody with the talent of Barack Obama.
It's already been posted in another thread here, but this is very much worth reading if you want an accurate picture of the campaign Trump actually ran:

This is the same magical thinking that made people think there was no way a Republican would ever win again.
Trump got very lucky in 2016. Things went as well for him as they possibly could have. A very small variation would have seen him lose right across the Midwest. It's very unlikely that the CIA will publicly announce that they're opening an investigation into his opponent a few weeks before the 2020 election, or that they'll get pneumonia a month beforehand and collapse in public. It's also very unlikely that they'll be the second least popular candidate of all time. It's also unlikely that anti-immigration sentiments and anti-intellectualism will be quite so fashionable. There's certainly a strong argument that says all the Democrats have to do is watch Trump royally screw things up, see his polling numbers drop even further outside of the basket of deplorables, and ride in as the saviours in 2020.
There's a chance, however slim, that Trump won't screw anything up. That seems unlikely - there isn't a single president who hasn't screwed something up, and Trump has already shown an exceptional inability to get things right. Even then, minor variations could see the Democrats win without much effort. But still, the world can't afford another Trump victory, so the Democrats mustn't be complacent.
There are two strategies. First, the "America is trending Democratic" logic still holds. Demographic changes make states like Florida, Arizona, North Carolina, and Georgia much more favourable to the Dems. If they win Florida and North Carolina, an entirely realistic goal, then they would win even if Trump held every other state. Win Arizona as well and it doesn't matter if Trump somehow gains Minnesota and even New Hampshire. Appeal to young people, and particularly Hispanic voters, and the Democrats win.
Secondly, regain the Midwest. This isn't necessarily contradictory with the first strategy although it does depend more on Trump messing up. Trump's protectionist policies probably won him a lot of support in these areas, but are also likely to do a lot of damage to their economies. If the Democrats can convince the uneducated white voters in these states that they will create lasting prosperity including jobs, then they'll win a lot of support - and they don't need to win very much. To mitigate against this, Trump should probably hold off on tearing up NAFTA until 2019 or even 2020. That way, the negative effects won't have time to set in, but he'll still have shown commitment to the idea.
A third strategy would be getting more states to join the popular vote pact, but that seems fairly unlikely - states like Oklahoma, Alabama and Tennessee would perceive it to be against their self-interest, even though it would hugely benefit them.

Oh and for you information, even though I don't like them, racism and many other forms of bigotry ARE other views; because they are the result of people's perception of other people regarding their race and other characteristics.
Judging from the fact that you seem to consider racism and bigotry as something other than other points of views, it seems pretty clear to me that you seem to believe that evil things such as racism aren't supposed to exists; that they are an anomaly in the very fabric of reality.
Well let me tell you, it's not! Bad things like racism can and will always exists no matter how good the world around you is. However that doesn't mean that we can't turn racism and bigotry into rare instances. But doing so will require time, patience, and, what you appear to lack the most, an open mind.

You bring up the circumstances against Hillary but what about Donald? There was unprecedented concentration of capital against him, the establishment of his own party opposed him, the media acted as a propaganda mouthpiece, and was facing the most corrupt candidate of all time who brought this whole rigged set up together. They were digging stuff up from 30 or 40 years ago to try to tar Trump and I don't think that's going to work in 2020, in the end a lot of be determined by the economic conditions and by the things that that are done during his term so it is yet to be seen. I think a lot will come down to fatigue with one party government so Trump's relationship with Democrats and independent image will come into play which are up to him to develop and maintain.
Demographics aren't so easily predicted in numbers or voting habits, Trump won a greater percentage of the minority and female vote than Romney in 2012 so is it impossible for Trump to improve on his 2016 numbers? So much of the Democrats campaign was to smear Trump as a racist, sexist, that Trump was unpresidential, and that we couldn't trust Trump for all the bad things he will do to the identity groupings that Democrats were desperate to mobilize which will all be seen as nonsense in 2020. Even modest gains in this area would be huge problem for Democrats are so dependent on their unquestioning support. It's going to be hard to scare people about someone just being president when they watched as them as president for 4 years already so for that to work he will actually have to do something that warrants that reaction. I expect Trump to make use of triangulation and to continue to widdle down on his opposition thru the bully pulpit, I think it will be very hard to campaign against Trump as he will have already gotten started with that person years before most likely altho I guess it is a possible a complete unknown shows up but that's only a temporary status. I don't see Democrats making the necessary steps to turn their party around, doubling down is not going to work.
