But would you let your daughter date one?

 I don't think any human being would be attracted to a non-humanoid alien.

Aliens may not only have non-humanoid body plans but non-humanoid intelligence.

When I was a boy I'd walk the dog every day after school. Sometimes the dog would walk on the other side of a lamp post so the leash got wrapped around. The dog would pull at the leash, trying to follow me. I'd have to unwrap the leash because the dog couldn't understand that if he wanted to follow me he'd have to go back and walk around the other side.

If we encounter aliens and they see the flaws in human intelligence, they may view us in the same way I viewed the dog.

Yeah, but as you seem to be alluding to, in the rest of this post, aliens might be of a much HIGHER intelligence----and, that is, IMO, VERY attractive!! Looks mean next-to-nothing to me----I am MUCH more attracted to someone's BRAIN----and, I'm not the ONLY one, who thinks that!!

They might not be attracted to your primitive human brain. They might think we humans are unintelligent compared to them, and thus unsuitable for dating. They might see us with cold indifference the way a human would see an ant.

Maybe the Aliens like 'em dumb (not dumb relative to other Earthlings, but dumb relative to their own superior alien intellect ).

Sorry about such an odd question. Basically, if we were to make contact with an advanced race, with their own unique cultures and civilizations, equivalents to much of what we have here, and we were to be equal to them but there were some notable differences, what would you think. How would your view of the universe change.

Sometimes I feel lonely because I know that we're all just copies of each other genetically, with slight differences. Assuming aliens are a whole new set of genetic information, or not even genetic, then I would finally feel like, after billions of years of isolation on this small sphere we've finally found another being.

Well what would happen would largely depend on the nature of how they got here and what they are like.

If aliens that where genetically very different from us and where intelligent reached here by a voyage using a ship that took millions if not billions of years to reach us from an earth-like exo-planet, then my views would not change at all.

If these aliens where extremely genetically close to humans, had culture almost identical to humans, was capable of near light-speed travel, or something else along those lines then that would warrant a change in certain beliefs.

Welcome to the Internet! Have you perused our list of weird sexual fetishes? It's very extensive, or so I'm told...

If the alien species had at least human level sentience, and it was not an abusive relationship then yes. Keep in mind that this would only apply to while she was living with me, if she no longer lives on me I do not believe I can stop her from doing what she wants but I can try to give advice.
