It would be nice to have another colorful First Spouse. By that I mean, one who isn't the spouse of a psychopathic dictator. It's less cute when they have absolute power.

Americans have a strange attitude towards Canada. A lot of the subtleties of the politics get lost. We hardly see any news analysis, despite having so many Canadians reading our news to us.

I think Europeans take a much greater interest in the political affairs of their immediate neighbors. Maybe it takes a recent war to keep people interested.

Other than Quebec separatism and the late great Rob Ford Canadian politics is just kind of boring,

It seems that Yusra Khogali of the American action group black lives matter tried to spice things up there by calling Trudeau a white supremacist.

So Trudeau is set to visit Trump on Monday and there is a lot for them to talk about: Keystone, immigration, a northern wall?

CTV: PM Trudeau shouldn't worry about 'dangers,' focus on opportunity with Trump: former ambassador

Quote:
"The opportunity is to come in and build rapport with your next-door neighbour, your largest trading partner, your ally.... These two men will have a lot to work together on, for prosperity for both Canadians and Americans, and for protection. And those are the things that both a prime minister and a president have as an obligation to the people: prosperity and protection."

The Daily Beast published an article saying that terrorist immigration is worse from the northern border than the southern.

The CBC reacted: CBC: 'The real bad guys' are coming from Canada, not Mexico, Daily Beast report alleges
