There are many intelligent people here, who take pride in their intellect and knowledge accumulated through a considerable amount of research. To have somebody insulting and besmirching them gets them understandably upset. Who wants to get attacked? Defending one's self is a human trait. And people with autism/Asperger's are, above all, human.

Through all this "humanity," the original purpose of the thread tends to get lost.

Either that, or they argue because they feel a need to validate their views on things. For me, it's some of both, though way more of the latter. I think, if we start introducing non-political threads again, that the quality of PPR will increase.

There used to be this guy whom some people didn't like-----but he wrote like Walt Whitman. I forgot his name. He was funny.

I wish we had some characters like that again.

I believe in expressing one's intellect, and also one's eccentricity----and doing so without insulting people.

PPR = POLITICS, Philosophy, and Religion

With the reaction we're now seeing to the new POUTS, political threads (lots and lots of political threads) will be the norm for the next 4-8 years and beyond.

I didn't mean dispensing with the political threads at all. I meant that we should have more of a mixture of threads, rather than mostly political threads.

It's what the "greater society" thinks of us. That we're "wrong."

But we know better. We are in our own "right planet."
