39. Washington Post Caught Covering Up Boston Mosque's Extremism and Bigotry

I just looked this up because it sounds fishy. It turns out there is something to this... and some of the major stories done on it were by CNN, the New York Times, and USA Today. It's hard to get more mainstream than that.

Usually because of corporate interest or an appeal to establishment access, major sources get things wrong or give misleading accounts. Major examples are how the Wall Street Journal persistently failed to report the lead up to the housing market collapse, and how CNN pushed the idea that a Hillary Clinton presidency was an inevitability. These biases are definitely worth considering.

However, it's also important to keep in mind that while these sources are sometimes inaccurate or misleading, the attempt to disregard them as "fake news" in favor of absurd, idiotic sources like Breitbart and InfoWars is a tactic by the current administration, and by the far right more generally. Some mainstream sources may be misleading, but Breitbart, InfoWars, and Press Secretary Sean Spicer consistently lie. Turning to them is trading small lies for complete fabrications. They have ZERO credibility, and their viewers are, and I mean this in the most respectful way possible, "useful idiots."
