I saw "Where to Invade Next" unfortunately, Moore is so controversial that his message falls on deaf ears for half the country. I don't think its unreasonable to keep people sheltered and fed while they go to college and increase their earning potential, I certainly don't have the capacity to mix work and school; if I did, I would still be doing it.

We seem to fixate on making life easier for people who already enjoy success rather than for people trying to attain it.

As I've discussed in another thread, I think one of the main reasons Americans don't like learning from other countries has to do with our dominant position in the world. Basically, it gets to our head. We're so great anyway, and everyone else such losers, to where many Americans doubt we have anything to learn at all. After all, we're doing so great other countries should be learning from us!
