This isn't meta-commentary on conspiracy theory? Parody?

I can see how deeply religious people of a certain type could go for something like this: there can be miracles, if you believe, after all.

Never mind all the solar dynamic stuff, there are immediate practical problems they can't overcome.
They can't, for example, explain:

Why great circle air routes often use less fuel than "straight lines" between cities.
How geosynchronous satellites stay in place.
How GPS systems use math based on the orbits of GPS satellites to determine location if there are no GPS satellite orbits.
How satellites travelling steadily in one direction reappear traveling in the same direction from the reciprocal course to the one they were on.
Why lines of longitude converge at two places.
E.g., How travelers from Chile and Australia meet at Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station by flying south.

There can only be one explanation for a hoax this elaborate:
