a title: Rudolf Steiner – The Splitting of the Human Personality during Spiritual Training
but its nothing much (as usual with that, too many flaws of 'supposedly agreed-upon information'),
--every phrase has its problem but eg: A real danger can only arise if the student, through impatience or arrogance, assumes too early a certain independence with regard to the experiences of the higher worlds; if he cannot wait to gain really sufficient insight into the supersensible laws. In these spheres, modesty and humility are far less empty words than in ordinary life.
<<redflagphrase, if some "master/seeer/seeker proposes you can cheet with this in ordinary life but only not in "higher" realms there's some luring going on but *coughcough* there's some purpose-driven-ness in that goodol' theosophistic worldcontrol by mindcontrol according to the hegelian teachings of steering the zeitgeist  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swarm_intelligence
https://www.marxists.org/reference/subj ... /magee.htm

or in plain latin: Divide et Impera !

or another search, splitting personalities in cults, gives more on dissociation and multiple personality disorder

Maybe I just read the wrong Steiner books; he seemed to say some interesting things but his books were terrible for road map.

Now, what's interesting, I remember Mark Stavish (one of the most credible people out there today IMHO) in some of his lectures talking about what's called a simulacrum - ie. imaging a light-double of yourself where an umbilical chord at your solar plexus is attached to its back. The danger supposedly is that once you've projected your mind into it enough times it may subconscious fight back to try and break free. If it does break free it can take a chunk of your personality with it which is quite often deeply destabilizing, so it's recommended that you have it perfectly teathered inside your own body and have a signal both for unwinding it and drawing it back in at the end of meditation periods.

that resembles the 'luminous egg' of Castaneda, in a sort of bad-magic use

Bad in a Roman Catholic 'El Diablo' way or what?

As far as I understand it most people who really get into this stuff are just interested in hacking the borders of their own being in any ways they can - its in the same class of action as taking a martial art, just that it's more internally geared. Some people want to perform magic rituals for the sake of, say, charging talismans for themselves. From a psychosomatic standpoint that makes perfect sense, even moreso if one considers the zero universe interpretation of QM because the arrangements of certain things in their lives and environments would shift according to core beliefs. OTOH 'black magic', particularly the type meant to disrupt the life of another person, is not only the list likely type of operation to do anything at all but if and when it does work it's like someone spitting a huge luge upstream in a wind tunnel.

I really think there's more understandable cause to say it's all fictitious and doesn't exist than cause to say it's in any real sense 'satanic'.

bad - from 'bad' intentions, not thought through, something that comes back to you
but the martial art is about self-discipline that should happen also in the other stuff
omg, sort all that out, 'good' intentions are possibly worse in a sense,
no intention, or inner silence goes a long way

hearhear, that got really back in fashion with the internet, along with tv-promotion of superstition

you really must look how the money rolls, who has the most, gets the upperhand in stacking the cards,
and that's some dirty trick well played

Okay, then I'd clarify - it's not a skill most people play with to go out and do harm to others. I can't think of what would make malice intent a prerequisite to desiring to create a simulacrum (unless we're imputing some kind of secular ghost of Catholic thought, which its nonsensical to say 'Well - this religion that I don't believe in says so').

I'm sorry but not only is that not universally correct, the main stream of occultism/esotericism in the west is completely against any attempts to harm or coerce other people with this stuff. That fits a small niche of guys who figure that dark and flashy stuff will sell to people who are a bit dull, desparate, half-baked in their thinking, or parochial to the extent that they lost a lover or lost a job and they want to try using 'law of attraction' to hex people, which is dumb as bricks.

Everything that's organized - AMORC (Rosicrucian Order), Hermetic Golden Dawn, Ordo Templi Orieintis, anything generally Hermetic at all, hogwarts or otherwise, is fundamentally aimed at personal transcendence and using psychological techniques like NLP (possibly as well what lies beyond that) to attempt building greater integrity within themselves. It's an attempt to ace one's subjective life really first and foremost. Structurally and philosophically it's taking someone almost identical to the Indian yogas as Vivikenanda would have described them but explaining through through Judao-Christian, Egyptian, and Greek philosophic language and quite often with the Hebrew alphabet.

Well said, techstepgenr8tion.

I'd add the distinction among white, grey, and black magick. Black magick is magick that harms people, including the magician, regardless of the intention. Grey magick is done with the intent of helping people, and is or tends to become black magick. White magick is union with the divine, which boils down to PhD level self-improvement of a sort.

So, all the organizations teach white and a little grey. However, from some study of the old spells, it seems like black magick was the prevailing form throughout history, and white was the province of people with a lot of free time. Even the old love spells involve making the target suffer agony until he or she comes to the magician in most cases.

Edit: let me add that this applies to both thaumaturgy and theurgy. Even people who invoke God use grey magick if they ask for a specific blessing, and like it or not, some christians do black theurgy.
