If you're in heaven you would be an immortal spirit. Would have no fleshy lusts. So you wouldnt want sex anyway.
Nor food either.

Since there is no death in Heaven there would be no need of procreation to keep "the species going". No death equals no procreation equals no sex.

So in heaven there is no sex, nor eating of food.

If sex itself was a "fleshly lust", then why did God tell all of creation (including mankind) to have it:

Genesis 1:22 - And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

Genesis 1:28 - And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Genesis 2:23-24 - And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Because he made all those fish and fowl etc out of flesh. So they all have "fleshy lusts". Silly!

And the earth needed to be filled up. and still need constant replenishment with procreation because of mortality.

In Heaven there is no mortality. Ergo no need to replenish the place with procreation.

I'm crying right now. I left Christianity a while ago over this.

Have you tried asking this question on ChristianForums.Com or something along those lines?

This might be in the wrong forum perhaps - don't necessarily take my word for it, maybe someone else will chime in.

PPR is a place where people bring ideas, either declaratively or for debate. When someone asks for advice, insight, etc. they'll get the opinion, and philosophies, and beliefs, of those particular members. Those members may be theists, deist, atheists, pantheists, panentheists, polytheists, and the answers you'll get will be as diverse as the people replying.

Understandably in this area there are different kinds of people: people who want their beliefs challenged, people who are seeking confirmation for their beliefs, sometimes people wanting to spread their beliefs albeit that usually doesn't go well.

The Haven is usually where someone would go if they're looking for consolation. PPR is where people usually go if they want to talk about an idea. The flavor this is taking is 'please console me' which the Haven is probably better for.

I could be mischaracterizing this but it seems like what I'm seeing: a) you're firmly convinced of the literal truth of at least the new testament of the bible, b) aren't interested in considering alternate views, c) aren't happy at the possibility of permanent singlehood (few people are), and d) want to be consoled. In Haven you might leave the religious aspect out of it but you could at least have a conversation on the basis of c) and d).

As far as the rest of it, ie. what's happening to you with respect to relationship and sexual activity status - there's a lot I'd like to tell you about the world, about how it works, about the human condition with respect to sanity, organized plot or lack of it, supervising deity or lack of it, etc.. but at the same time I realize a lot of what I'd have to say might even be more painful that what you already believe - ie. if you're already saddled with what your describing I'm hesitant to take away even what's partially hopeful and partially dysfunctional.

The best I can do maybe is give you the hopeful half of it:

I think the only thing I'd say directly here - I don't think you'll be locked into some pearly gated city as a chased and saintly zim or zer worshiping at the throne of Yahweh with no genitalia for ever and ever and ever. A comprehensive understanding of the bible and where its philosophies come from weighed against NDE's, weighed against what nearly all of the mystics of history have said, really destroys that literalist modern Catholic/Protestant view of permanent heaven and hell. I think people make a big mistake when they come at this from the standpoint that revealed truth is the only narrative or knowledge we have of the inner and more permanent phases of reality.

You can take that and contemplate it as a possibility or dismiss it as the words of a guy saying something you haven't heard a priest or Sunday school teacher say. I'll leave that to you. Either way - I don't think you'll find the finest of Christian thought, maybe a few members here can provide that, and consolation is more of a Haven than PPR function. As far as us ever having an actual religion folder for this purpose - this is Alex's site and he seems to be on the Henry Ford model of business; ie. we can have any color Ford we want as long as it's black or any folders we want as long as they're the exact folders with the exact names that we already have.

I'm not so sure there isn't eating.

Some people take this verse to show there is no eating in Heaven; but is it that or does it mean in heaven there are no famines or water shortages like here on Earth? From Revelation 7.
Quote:
"15 For this reason, ‘They are before the throne of God and serve Him day and night in His temple; and the One seated on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them. 16 Never again will they hunger, and never will they thirst; nor will the sun beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. 17 For the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd. He will lead them to fountains of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’”"

Now, is that allegorical or literal? If literal would Heaven be a place where a new crop each month goes to waste because no one eats it? Revelation 22
Quote:
"1 Then the angel showed me a river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb, 2 down the middle of the main street of the city. On either side of the river stood a tree of life, producing twelve kinds of fruit and yielding a fresh crop for each month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. 3 No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be within the city, and His servants will worship Him."

How literal is this one? Revelation 19.
Quote:
"9Then the angel told me to write, “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’”"

My impression is that reclining at the table would be a bit odd without food on the table. Matthew 8.
Quote:
"“And I say to you, that many shall come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven; ..."

And what about this, literal or allegorical? From the famous Last Supper in Mark 14.
Quote:
23 And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, and they all drank from it. 24 And He said to them, "This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many. 25 "Truly I say to you, I will never again drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God."

And since reclining at the table is mentioned, a historical note.

Quote:
"The ancient Greeks had a recumbent approach to their (male-only) dinner parties, as I discussed in a previous post: elite men reclined, propped on pillows, to drink, converse, and—sometimes—overindulge.

The practice of reclining and dining continued into ancient Rome, but with a few additions—for one, respectable women were invited to join the party, and for another, drinking was not a separate, post-dinner event, but became part of the dining experience. "

Quote:
"The élite of most advanced ancient Mediterranean societies partook of banquets lying down. We know this from iconographic records dating back to the seventh century BC. Some scholars assume that the custom was widespread in the originally nomadic tribes that finally settled in Syria or Iran, befitting their modest tent furnishings. But the social prestige that soon became associated with reclining at a banquet might owe more to the preciousness of the beds of the rich, as suggested by the outpouring of the biblical prophet Amos (around 750 BC), against those used by the Samarians: "Lying upon beds of ivory, stretched comfortably on their couches, they eat lambs taken from the flock." (Bible, Amos 6:4–7)."

I think heaven is a place where there are no spiritual repercussions for things that are considered sins on earth.

Let's just imagine if we knew we'd go to an afterlife with no sex. I wouldn't fear that. I remember life before puberty. Children are not unhappy without sexual urges. Children are more happy than adults. Sex is not necessary to have relationships and to love and receive love. You can also look at the other end of the scale to elderly couples for proof of that.

Life was way better before sexual urges, in my case anyway. Sexual urges feels tense and like stress I hate that feeling.

my dude, just bring a fleshlight with you to heaven. Then ask God for a body pillow with your favorite waifu on it then you are set. Just make sure to close the golden blinds so ya boy Gabriel da Angel doesn't snitch.

My dude, those fleshlights are so much more trouble than they are worth.

The entire, Biblical plan, for all of Creation, from beginning to end, might be summed into a single word -- redemption.

This is portrayed, with Christ as the groom, and the church as the bride, in a marriage supper.
