Qausi-Satanists and their lookalikes believe that cannibalism is ethical, assuming that the prospective meal is not sentient. Being a biped, having opposable thumbs, feelings, and the ability to make vocalizations, are not signs of intelligence, in respect to being creative and proactive. Two of their cardinal sins, reportedly, are ignorance and lack of aesthetic. So, in at least one worldview, it is only a question of passivity.

If that seems hateful and bizarre, consider that ambitious people eye you for a meal, every day.

Any particular order or group you're referencing?

"Go to the meat-market of a Saturday night and see the crowds of live bipeds staring up at the long rows of dead quadrupeds. Does not that sight take a tooth out of the cannibal's jaw? Cannibals? who is not a cannibal? I tell you it will be more tolerable for the Fejee that salted down a lean missionary in his cellar against a coming famine; it will be more tolerable for that provident Fejee, I say, in the day of judgment, than for thee, civilized and enlightened gourmand, who nailest geese to the ground and feastest on their bloated livers in thy paté-de-foie-gras."

If facing certain death from starvation, cannibalism is perfectly rational, as long as those being eaten are already dead. Otherwise, you'd be committing murder.

In the case of an event like the Donner Party you either eat what's avalible or starve.
A friend's dad was in New Guinea around WW2 and met some cannibals, said they were some of the nicest people he'd ever met.I wonder if they invited him to dinner.lol

Was thinking of that incident, and Chronos talked about that above.

Thats about the only time I consider it acceptable. If half of the folks died in your plane crash, and the other half are stranded and starving then its okay for you survivors to eat the already dead.

I mainly intended to make the point, that most people are not engaging in purposeful behavior., not that I have any appetite for them.
