Dude

Gawd...you're missing the point!

If you are an armed mugger, and I am Superman from Planet Kripton, and you knew full well who I was would you still mug me? Superman doesn't even carry cash around with him anyway. So you would have nothing to gain by trying to rob me. And if you threaten me with your pistol, or even just shot me without warning, the bullet would bounce off , and then I would then tear you to pieces. So you would have nothing to gain. So why would you do it?

Same applies to Kim. The situation is so lopsided that there is no reason for him to nuke us.

I think an even better analogy - your mugger won't be looking for SWAT teams to stick-up or donut shops to rob.

Well, NK keeps on warning that it wants to strike the US, and I live on the east coast, so...

If somebody has a drug habit, a donut shop WOULD be a convenient target.

You live on the EAST coast?????

So that means you're safe (because even though they cant hit either coast if they were able to hit us the west coast is the closer target).

So whats your problem?

Or do have your ass on backwards and have your coasts mixed up?

Do you know the difference between the East Coast and the West coasts of the USA?
Sounds like you either confused as to which coast you live on, or you are confused about where North Korea is, and think that North Korea is in Western Europe.

So here is a remedial geography lesson so we can get on the same page:

North Korea is on Asia's east coast, and the western shore of the Pacific.
They can fire missles a couple hundred miles.

The Pacific is 6000 miles wide (twice as wide as the Atlantic).

California is on the US WEST coast.

The USA is 3000 miles long. So the east coast is 3000 miles farther away from North Korea than California.

So which coast do you live on? The one with California, or the opposite coast (that has the original 13 states of the "eastern seaboard")?

C2V, i like your point of view. Its really hard for some of us to take focus off the negative and focus on the positive. It's very depressing in this day and age with so little respect and unconditional love being seen. i simply don't watch the news much. i can't, it's like i soak in the anxiety of the world. It's a coping mechanism so i am not always jangling with over excited neurons. We have to fight the negative, imo, but that's my worldview.

Another thing is that the Pentagon was successful in their test for a missile defense system, so even if NK managed to get off something, it likely wouldn't be successful. The US has had more success in those tests than NK ever had.

Even then, only the west coast could be a target, but the US wouldn't be the only country to retaliate as China, South Korea, and Russia are just a few countries who would turn NK into ashes if their leader were stupid enough to try something like launching nuclear weapons.

9/11.

If he lives in a major target like New York City (due to its high population), he is at risk of terrorist attack.

Learn to read please.

We were talking about North Korea shooting missiles across the Pacific. We weren't talking about Al Queda hijacking planes.

His exact words were "north korea keeps warning us about attacks, and I [he, the OP] live on the EAST coast" as if being on the East Coast put him in greater peril from a Nork Nuke missile than living in the Midwest, or living on the west coast, when in fact the opposite would be the case (the East Coast of the US is farther from North Korea than the west coast)..
