More violent protests in Portland:s

I'm not from the Northwest, but my nephew lives there now and my parents lived there in their 20's, and my understanding from those sources is that it's pretty much like every other state: there are big cities that are dominated by liberal ideas and rural areas that are dominated by conservative ideas. From Portland specifically, probably not, but the surrounding areas probably imported a fair number of protesters on the conservative side. It makes sense too: if you live in nowhere-ville where everyone agrees and you have a protest, no one covers it, at least no one you want to influence, so you pack up shop and move to where the media will report it.

If antifa went to those locals they would change no ones minds, change no policy, and get a belly full of lead in the process. They know that and that is why you do not see them there. I do not think they are changing minds in Berkley/Portland either but they know they have been allowed to create repeated scenes there. Like all bullies they will keep on takeing until stood up to. I hope they are stood up to before they are massacred by vigilantes or trigger happy law enforcement a la Kent State.

Being liberal doesn't stop people from protesting against Trump and the whole protest thing last weekend was about hate speech because of what happened on May 26th. Also the stabber was a Bernie supporter, not a Trump supporter and Christian protested he had a right to freedom of speech so he can do what the heck he wants before stabbing the victims. People just assumed the stabber was a Trump supporter because of hate speech he was sprouting at the two girls.

Also Trump supporters were at the rally and were going for free speech and saying they supported him so I can see how the whole thing got ugly and also protesting that supporting trump does not equal hate speech.

Just because Portland is all liberal doesn't mean everyone there is liberal. We still have Trump supporters here. I just don't understand how anyone can be open about being a Trump supporter because to me that is asking for trouble. That is like going out and shouting you are a racist or a pedophile or that you support Adolf Hitler.

I am no fan of the President at all but what you descibed is a big problem I have with these SJW bullies. Bieng an open Trump supporter or an open Hillary supporter in other parts country should not put you at risk. It violates what is or used to be a core American value.

Liberals can be racist too. They can also hate poor and homeless people.

And he videos I'm seeing from Portland are violent. I also still remember watching rioters block free ways and burning cars.

Then there was that blm where they told people to pack guns and kill cops.

I support trump I'm. It racist pedophile or support hitler. This is just the left at its finest to shut down anyone they disagree with they sling the racist card. I don't think trumps racist . Muslims aren't a race it's a religion. Supporting border control isn't racist it's the law.

But no I won't go to Portland cause I'll probably get killed or arrested for my political views.
The fact people think it's fine to hit or kill republicans is very concerning and should be for every single human being who cares about life.

My point being is what are they trying to accomplish? The people in charge already agree with them. Trump and Washington DC doesn't give two poops about people from Portland protesting neither do most the rest of the nation. So besides attacking, almost killing people and getting to burn and destroy property , what do they get?

I honestly don't think any of them give a poop about the issue but just want a reason to be violent and break laws. It's their mini purge event. It's why they wear masks and all black.

Last thing I want is to be up in Portland and accidentally find myself near wherever they chose to riot that day.

One guys in jail for pulling his gun to fend off a mob of blm rioters, one of which had previously threatened and attacked him,.

So I'll stay in nice little Springfield where there's no riots and very little violent crime. Even Eugene doesn't have as much and their as liberal if not more then Portland.

Scares me a lot.

But to see total chaos in Brownbackistam, Abbottistan, et al world be music to my ears. We could even have a GG Allin tribute band perform at the victory parties.

The racism and pedophile and Hitler things were all analogies and yes I do think Trump is a bigot and racist and a xenophobe. But I think it's stupid to air your political beliefs in public because politics is a strong thing that brings out strong feelings and emotions and to me that is asking for trouble. It can lose you respect or lose friends or be harassed similar to what happens to Hitler supporters and pedophiles and racists. My mom has even admitted she wouldn't stop to help someone if they had a racist sticker on their car or if she knew they were racist. Same thing happened with someone who was stuck in the snow, someone refused to stop to help them because they supported Trump and how did the drive by person know the stuck person was a trump supporter, the person had a Trump support sticker on their car. Seriously, why must people sprout their political views? That takes lot of guts and the nerve. I would never be open about mine by not having anything in my yard about it or on my car.

Would the same go for people with obama stickers or Hillary stickers? Or is it just the right who should hide their beliefs? Cause I've noticed left people shout and broadcast their beliefs proudly on Facebook, their cars, even their clothes.

If a medic can give medical attention to a insurgent sniper who literally just minutes before shot him in the chest, I'd hope people could show basic human kindness to people of other political beliefs. I'd give up my life if need be to save another person, even if they were super anti gun I'd defend them. Life is sacred I don't even kill insects unless I have to and try to save them if I see one in trouble.

But honestly most conservatives would save a liberal Bernie supporter if they saw them in trouble. I'd hope conservatives don't have the martlet share on doing what's right regardless of who it's for.

If that person died the ones who passed on cause they were against trump should get mansualter charges. I believe it's illegal to see someone at risk of dying and do nothing.

I'm a very shy person, but I'm also not ashamed of my beliefs, so push comes to shove I'll be vocal about them. I don't use bumper stickers at all or branded clothing. I don't see the point in being an unpaid walking billboard.

He saved my rights and millions of others rights. While obama and Clinton wished to strip of us our basic human right of self defense. I can never support any democrat running for office as long as they blindly support horrible things in the name of walking the party line. I wish we could tear the party down and rebuild it to stand for the people. The party line is stupid and hurtful. Hating something cause the other party likes it is childish we teach our kids not to do that yet democrats and republicans do it. Wtf

If somebody is in trouble, I don't ask their political beliefs. If a person is in trouble, politics goes out the window.

If somebody is a Nazi whom I saved, I would hope the person would, thereby, change his opinions about Jews, for it was a Jew who saved him.

Archie Bunker had a black person donate blood to him. This changed his views of black people. He was shocked that Stretch Cunningham turned out to be Jewish; he didn't like it very much. But---they were friends---and Archie still gave an eulogy at Stretch's funeral.

...I actually remember, it was discussed here in the time prior to the Presidential election, someone in the Carolinas who would not help someone who had a Bernie Sanders sticker when their car was broken.
It may have even been that the refuser was doing so after being called to pick up the Sanders supporter"s car, as he was defending his right to not help the Sanders supporter saying helping a Sanders supporter went against his religious beliefs , I doubt that he would have felt compelled to make a defence if he had been just passing by, I assume that it was a case of the Sanders supporter calling his towing service .

Not helping a Sanders supporter, or not helping a Trump supporter--both are ridiculous.
