I heard someone on KIRO radio make a good point. He said, what about all the republicans in the house and senate, is russia responsible for that too?
Except for the fact he's term limited to 2 terms (8 years) by the 22nd amendment, and at his age and living habits will probably not be alive in 8 years.
I know. That was just a bit of satire. I do that sometimes. But I could see him trying to push for that, after he pardons himself. Off the top of my head I believe the 22nd amendment was passed after FDR completed a 3 term presidency. And Trump's hippie doctor said he's in spectacular health https://www.theatlantic.com/health/arch ... cs/497840/
3.25 terms, and I could care less what the mad scientist from Area 52 in Independence Day has to say about his health. The KFC and burger/fries diet says all I need to know about his health. I mean really Ezra, does Trump seem like the type of person that takes advice from medical professionals, or anyone for that matter?
Absolutely. I mean look at how much Ivanka has changed his behavior.
I hope you're just being sarcastic about Ivanka changing his behavior.

We should have left nature's beauty alone. Carving human faces into that mountain helped nobody.
Please, PLEase, PLEASE tell me who is "we"----and, why you keep saying "we", "our", "us", when referring to anything that happens, in the the U.S. There is NO "we", because you are a CANADIAN, living in Ottawa!!

...The electors, of any party, are sworn to vote for their party's nominee if that nominee gets their state's vote, they don't really have any choice!
They are " B.M.O.C. "s within their parties, big Party people, that's how they got the elector nomination in the first place...Besides, they would probably consider in, in general, their duty to vote for their state's winner!
ote="EzraS"]The only reason why Donald Trump won the the election is because 306 out of 538 electors voted for him. Period, end of story.
So the question is, is there any evidence whatsoever that those 306 were influenced in any way by anything Russia did?
The answer is, no.
I feel like I'm the only person on earth who's figured that out.[/quote]

Thank you for a reasonable post.

We shouldn't have built the Ottawa locks along with the whole Rideau canal project. What were we thinking?

Most people have only seen a cropped photo, rarely do people see the granite scree littered at the base of the mountain from carving the sculpture. In the great human tradition not only did they carve up nature, they didn't even clean up after themselves when done. If the photos weren't idealized with clever cropping and showed the full mountain more people would be aware of how hideous it actually looks.

...What, his parents moved outta town and didn't leave him a forwarding address?

"In Washington DC, post-electoral stress disorder has generated a hysteria still manifest after eight months: the “Russian” impeachment campaign implies any contact with any Russian by anyone with any connection to Donald Trump was ipso facto treasonous. The press is doing its valiant best to pursue this story, but it is a bit much to claim “collusion.”
The hysteria is understandable, because Trump has defied expectations by actually trying to do what he promised. Another reason is that the cause of last November’s electoral outcome has remained unexplored. Long-term processes of income redistribution from working people to everyone else, had been evident for at least two decades.

What, Ivanka's supposed to run after her old man? Or do you mean Trump will extinguish democracy and become the strongman he's always wanted to be?

Not all leftists are crazy over the whole Russia thing. Most "leftists" who obsess over Russia are mainstream corporate "liberals". They can't accept that corporate liberalism has alienated the white working class.
Yep. I already explained why.
HAHAHAHAHAHA
Trump hasn't "drained the swamp". His administration is full of wealthy oil goons.
Additionally, his border wall won't work and his "Muslim ban" doesn't apply to Saudi Arabia.
This is understandable. Immigrants do a ton of work for the upper class. Billionaires love immigration. They will always lobby for it. How do we prevent this?
... by the mainstream left.
Are you talking about subsidies?
Billionaires are the biggest welfare queens of the system.
The Trump dynasty will last for 16 years! Ha! That's a pretty bold assumption.
You are assuming that the left won't alter its rhetoric over the next four years.
When Obama got elected, a lot of liberals assumed that the right was over. I always knew that it wasn't over. I always knew that the right-wingers would alter their strategy. In the end, they did. They abandoned "compassionate conservatism" in favor of unhinged, vulgar macho pounding.
The left could change its strategy too. We could abandon political correctness in favor of blunt economic leftism.
You are severely underestimating the intelligence of the left.

I highly doubt that Trump will ever become fully totalitarian. The American people are better than that.
If Trump tries to be a strongman, the American people will pry the country from his tiny baby hands and then he will spend the rest of his years in the bowels of Guantanamo Bay.
I doubt that the American people will give him a trial. They didn't give Bin Laden a trial.

2 of the 306 refused to vote for Trump, so he only got 304 votes.
"While Hillary Clinton should have receives 232 votes and the President-elect 306 votes, the result actually revealed that five Democrat electors didn't vote for Clinton, while two Republicans refused to support the controversial billionaire".
