Why do we assume God is all-powerful?

Some judges and mayors are addressed as "your worship" and they're not all-powerful.

But they have SOME power.

But if an entity can create the whole universe then wouldn't such an entity then have to be all powerful?

The concept is simply so, so dumb...
I used to be a fence sitter most of my life (want to see the splinters?... ), but definitely not on this point any longer...

I seriously have to shake my head at the need some people have to create an existence of a god and the related system simply because of their existential anxiety...

And the irrational nonsense that goes with it to justify the indefensible non-reasoning...

It is true what they say about grumpy old men...

The old Gods were not omnipotent but they were vengeful. I can see if I believed in a vengeful God I would worship them in the hope they would leave me alone. In fact, when life is going unusually badly I do wonder if I have accidentally offend a minor deity and say sorry just in case.
