It's like they're trying to use terms that are as inflammatory and ambiguous as possible. Why are their terms so ridiculous?
George Orwell described this in his book 1984. He called the terms "newspeak" and the phrases "double speak". The terms are ambiguous, inflammatory, and often mean the opposite of what they sound like. These items of speech are used to make discussion of certain subjects extremely difficult. If the words are twisted beyond reason, how can you reason?

OP: I suspect that if I created a thread titled "regressive, reactionary, rightwing terminology is intentionally inflammatory" the right wing members here (who throw around insults like "liberal" to smear all of the left wing members with their broad black and white brushes of gross generalisation) would be hitting the report button.

This thread, and all of its kind, generally don't end well. Your definition of rape culture is ludicrous, though I am sure you think it is factual, rather than your own chosen interpretation. Unfortunately we have a lot of members here who have first hand experience of rape, and the rape culture that enables the offenders; you are entitled to your opinions so long as they are within the rules. Causing offence to other members is not within the rules, and that is generally why these threads get locked et al.
