The Democratic party sucks. It's not a left-wing party, it's centrist at best. However, it's the only real alternative Americans have to the GOP, which is even worse.

I think it's more accurate to say that the Democratic Party is a broad-tent party which appeals to people from the left to the centre, and these days it's definitely a centre-left party - almost every representative supports a big increase in the minimum wage and healthcare expansion, for example.

The Republican Party has ever-decreasing appeal to centrists, but that's not a problem electorally because there are fewer and fewer centrists. It's bad for the country and the world, but not the party.

The reason there are fewer and fewer centrists is most people outside of the comfortable upper middle class are increasingly anxious and dissatisfied with the status quo. Few people are happy with “stay the course”. They only disagree over which direction things should go, based on broadly divergent epistemological assessments of the problems at hand.

It’s people like you constantly talking about identity politics. The real left talks about issues that actually effect people while you prattle on over nonsense. The sudden fear mongering over Mexicans is a total ruse.

 I just talk about identity politics to criticise it.

What the hell is a 'centrist' exactly. Give me some names.

Precisely identity politics isn't just targeting minorities - it's targeting identities.

Trump targeted bigots of all varieties, and white supremacists overall, as well as religious extremists.

Trump is the king of identity politics because ALL he did was demonize minorities to spur on his very identifiable base and call his political opponents of all leanings names. He didn't run on a platform, he ran like a drug crazed reality television diva and it paid off - most people can name who, and what, he is against more than they can name anything he's "for;" hell most people can count off the nicknames he gives people more than anything he has come forward about being "for" as well.

Of course right-wingers will argue, yell, and shout wanting to believe that targeting minorities is the only identity politics that counts - which ignoring all the non-minority identities does is reveal easy to see bias.

Can you give some examples of when Trump has spoken about white people or saying as a "white person" or about color?

Re-read what I wrote - he targeted white supremacists. Not white people. There is a HUGE difference. One that right-wingers often have difficulty in seeing these days, which to me - IS racist towards white people because not all white people are like the vile stench of his white supremacy deplorables.

Since you want some of the dog whistles that are about people of color - here's some:

http://www.latimes.com/politics/la-na-t ... story.html

And I won't go any further than that because his supporters either (1) scream fake news, (2) are racist themselves so they don't see his actions or words as racist, (3) choose to remain blissfully ignorant of his obvious racism (although most of these people are gone because they have woken up over the course of the first year and have joined those calling him out as well (these people can be seen on twitter via "Trump Regrets")).

Says your source is unavailable in European countries.

The thing about white supremacists is that they usually tend to be white. Can you give some examples of Trump mentioning skin color while speaking in favour of white supremacists?

New York Times:

If this doesn't work, I couldn't care less. Use google, 'nuff said.

Politicians in the history of United States politics have never blatantly come forward about championing the white supremacist cause - it has always been through dog whistles like the ones that Trump uses like they're going out of style.

Remembering that you are someone who believes "criticizing Nazis is the same as criticizing white people" though - showing your extremity - this is my final reply to you here and a post just for everyone else.

Have a nice night.

Okay, I take that back then. Also, this is why I asked you to clarify last time - which you didn't do.

Yep. Not a lot of evidence then. Interesting though. Thanks.

And yep, just like every other Trump apologist - cries fake news or doesn't care about Trump spurring on bigots - we all know what happened in Charlottesville when the right's identity politics targets reared their ugly mugs while screaming "heil Trump" and "Jews will not replace us."

 I just talk about identity politics to criticise it.

By only criticizing identity politics of the other team, YOU are doing identity politics. I care about real issues that will affect me, such as Trump blowing up the national debt with military spending and stupid tax cuts for the rich, all while Republicans are promising to destroy what's left of the medical social safety net.
