A bit off topic but UFOs are mentioned in the bible. One prime example is the "wheel within a wheel" which Tangerine Dream even made a song about, and the "chariot of fire" which took Elijah away.

Another interesting thing is that in Genesis God didn't say "let me make man in my image" but "let us make man in our image".

Ahh, but these were not Unidentified Flying Objects.

The "Wheels Within Wheels" were actually lying on the ground in a vision of Exekiel (Book of Ezekiel, Chapter 1, Verses 15 through 21). The prophet identified them as living creatures.

The "Chariot of Fire" did not fly, it only came between the two prophets, Elijah and Elisha. Then Elijah was taken up into Heaven by a whirlwind, not the chariot (2nd Book of Kings, Chapter 2, verse 11).

QED

Again, it never ceases to amaze me how many Biblical "experts" there are who have never actually read the Bible.

This is cited as evidence for the triune nature of God -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The whirlwind could also be interpreted as the power system of a vertically rising spaceship.

Jus' saying...

Christians always say that whenever somebody calls the bible out on it's BS.

The Bible is not to be taken absolutely literally, according to most even religious authorities.

... or the breath weapon of a cloud dragon ... or the exhaust from a really bad taco ... or the conflagration of a natural-gas explosion ... or maybe even a naturally-occurring whirlwind ...

No ... people who have actually read the Bible say that when we're calling out people who obviously haven't read the Bible. I do the same thing to people who claim that the Declaration of Independence established America as a Christian nation (which it hasn't) -- I have read the Constitution, as well, while many people haven't.

Maybe not the Apocrapha . but from post Biblical Middle Ages Jewish folklore (though the story may have more ancient roots), the some of the Middle Ages Talmud.

But the very article you linked to says that the word "Lilith" only appears ONCE in the Hebrew Bible (the Jewish Bible is the same thing as the Christian Old Testament).

The point is that Lilith is a kind of a heretical story that's banned from both mainstream Christianity and from mainstream Judaism.

But even if Lilith were a standard Jewish Biblical character its doesn't change my point that Adam and Eve were the first humans, but not the first Jews, and the first Jews came much later (even if you take the Bible literally).

And if they were really the first two humans then we should all be sitting around on porches wearing overalls and playing banjos.

It's just like that story of Noah rebuilding the world after it flooded by gathering two of each animal for his big boat. I guess that means every animal is inbred too.

Yes. There is that inbreeding problem ….with both man and beast.

And you wonder about things getting left out of the Bible.

For example:my theory is that Noah may have been the inventor of "insider trading" ( profiting from inside knowledge). I mean it looks really suspicious.

The Bible says that he, a six hundred year old man, and six other people built the ark. Imagine two world war two liberty ships welded together at the side - two ten thousand ton freighters each half again as long as a football field permanently welded together into one big wide ship- that was the size and shape of the Ark. But made of wood, instead of steel.

Now..imagine something that big being built by seven people.

In reality he probably hired hundreds of local contractors to help build it. But he paid them all ...ahem...on credit.

He knew that there was a flood coming. So he knew that all of his creditors were gonna die in that flood, so he knew he would never hafta pay them back. THATS gotta be the real deal about how the Ark got built.

And the later compilers of the Bible probably just kinda left that part of the story out.

The myth of Adam and Eve is quite a lot about common ancestry of all humans.
Modern science confirms it with the Recent Out of Africa model.
But if we take it that way - our common ancestors came from Africa and people from Africa have a phenotype of dark skin and curly hair. Some then adapted to cloudy climates by losing their skin pigmentation but it happened millenia later.

So, to bring together the Bibilical metaphor with current knowledge, we should portrait Adam and Eve as Africans, shouldn't we?

Adam and Eve were not even biblically the first people. They were the first Jews.

Dead wrong.

They were the first humans, and they were not the first Jews. Adam and Eve were created only a week after the earth and the whole cosmos were created. No humans existed prior according the Bible as we know it.

The first Jews were centuries later even according the Bible.

Humans interacted with Jehovah, in Genisis (Adam and Eve, and Noah etc) but they had not yet made covenant with God. That was Abraham (about 2000 years after Adam and Eve).

Well in the Jewish religion Adam had a wife before Eve named Lilith who ran away from the Garden of Eden and became a demon.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lilith

She's not mentioned in the Christain version of the story.

Nor in the Jewish version. Nor any religion's. That mess in the apocrypha (the banned stories of the Bible).

So basically her story is a prime example of how the religions that originated out of the Middle East like Christianity, Judaism, and Islam like to practice what I call "selective moralism" which means they like to hold onto the teachings that suit their personal wants and throw away anything that doesn't work for them.

Pretty much.

There a tantalizing clues of things like that getting edited out. That Adam had previous wife. And that God himself had a wife named "Asherah" who got left on the cutting room floor when they decided to put the scriptures in the film can.

My view is a bit different - that beliefs branch in every direction until they come to the point where either some of the branches have to be cut off or the religion splits. This is also how cultures evolve. Only religions sometimes tend to insist on having the ultimate thruth and deny their own evolution.

I don't know Southern Baptists. Catholics officially admit most of the Genesis is symbolic, with main interpretations that people there symbolize peoples and their relationships (e.g. Kain vs Abel as farming vs pastoral societes).

I mean think about it, if that really was true it would basically mean that we are all inbred.

The story of Adam and Eve is a crock of s**t.

I actually just read that story last month, sitting in a motel room. We are not all inbred (although if you don't believe in Creation, science would dictate that we are), there were lots of other people on Earth after they left the garden.

So that would mean Adam and Eve were NOT the first two humans and if they were then where did the other humans come from?

And I'm sure we all came from inbred families at one point in time. Humans used to practice incest all the time. But one man and one woman would not be able to populate the entire human species.

I find this very racist since Adam and Eve are supposed to have been horrible sinners who doomed the entire human race all because Eve wanted a piece of fruit.

Can you please translate this sentence into the type of English spoken here on planet Earth?

You screwed up your grammar so badly that I cannot decipher what you are trying to say here.

I guess this is exactly why the idea never entered the mainstream. Racism - a feeling that if someone has different skin tone, they is "not one of us".
So if someone of this attitude saw the picture, they would see it as black blaming instead of acknowledging that the common ancestors of all the human beings most likely had dark skin and curly hair.
