Why is American system of legislation so harsh to minors?

Oof. Um, so Im just gonna point out that A LOT of teens have a fake ID so the person selling them alcohol probably thought they were legal. Or they got it from someone who actually was. (A friend or family member etc) Its really REALLY easy to get your hands on alcohol regardless of age. So its hard to just blame the seller. Its honestly not the consumption of alcohol thats the problem, its how stupid people act once theyve had it that gets them in trouble...
Minors get in trouble with sex when they have sex with someone who ISNT a minor. Thats statutory rape because the minor wasnt old enough to give legal consent. If two minors do it, it's technically unlawful sexual conduct but like since they are both victim and perpetrator they usually arent charged with anything. (They do have to be the same age tho. Like 17 and 15: the parents of the 15 year old could still sue....I think)
