The term SJW is too vague.
The term "social justice warrior" is just a meaningless epithet. A brickbat to throw at anyone you disagree with. And it's never even used in real offline life. I have never heard any person ever utter the expression with their voice. Have only seen the term in online text.
There are individuals who go overboard with PC, and who get upset about things like calling old style non green chalkboards "black boards", and get upset that there is an American Indian girl on the LandOLakes butter cartons (a guy on WP actually started a whole thread about that topic some years ago). So maybe there is a need for a word for that kind of person. "Anti bigot bigot" maybe?

Once a new term gets launched it has very little time under the custody and control of those who coined it and almost instantly takes on the massive synonymous 'definition 2: person I don't agree with or don't like'.
So if SJW as a definitively bad thing gets overextended we lose our language for the sorts of people who are doing their best to shake fields like biology to their foundations and make research and publication nearly impossible or even usurp it with their own sort of home-grown scientiology while writing it into common law which is incredibly difficult to unwind once achieved. Regressive is broad enough that I suppose they could fit in but I wonder if it's worth having a short-hand way of distinguishing them from card-carrying communists, resource-based economy true believers, and anarcho-primitivists. The world is full of really bad ideas that can be glommed onto, the social justice front though especially seems to be taking institutions by storm right now so the rest are more on the back-burner.
