I think you're better than to ask a question like that.
How so? I want to know exactly why it's so terrible to not have the privilage of being an a**hole dick to somebody just because they are different from you.

Have you lived in America long and noticed the many snarky smartasses in this country?
We're not that "politically correct" as you guys put it.
Americans are now convinced that showing any manners and respect for your fellow human beings is evil. How wonderful.

Because I think, from previous posts here, that you're too honest to believe that that's what it's about.
I mentioned above that neither I nor any other sane person believes that it's okay to go around using n-words and being homophobic, but political correctness has gone far far beyond that now - it's the more absurd, more recent forms of political correctness whereby one can't refer to a young boy as a "boy" anymore that people are concerned about, not mere civil usage which has been observed for a very long time now. I'm sure you know this, really. Don't let your reason be drowned out by opinions that are louder than your own, if this is what you're doing.

I actually agree with some of what you said. But on the other hand I see more people nowadays being a lot more openly racist and sexist than they used to be.
That really worries me is all.

I think those things are more prominent now than before, because you have a racist in the White House (not that Obama was much better) who receives so much coverage, but I don't personally see any more racism, sexism or homophobia in my day to day life than at any other time; those things are just given more coverage because they're such potent weapons politically, and it's easy to be deceived into thinking that what you see on the news gives an accurate representation of ordinary, day to day life. Either way, the current state of affairs is an enormous improvement on that of our grandparents' generation.
Political correctness, in its cruder forms, seems to me to be the modern equivalent of Church dogma and is adhered to with the same vehemence and sometimes violence that the vengeful witchhunting mob of the middle ages did its own absurd dogmas - it's almost as though the more absurd the dogma, the more violence is required to protect it; the punishment for disavowal has to be correspondingly great as the dogma is, on rational grounds, weak. I think posterity, if man (I don't apologize for using that term) survives these troubled times, will judge us for our modern witch hunts, but perhaps by then it'll have its own equally ridiculous dogmas.

You're right and it's very sad...

I think you indirectly just proven Magna's analysis right about the manipulation part.

I'm really confused here... but If I really was being manipulative then I honestly wasn't aware of it and I apologize.

It didn't want to say that you individually were being manipulative.
I was talking about the media and those institutions in modern society as a general whole that are confusing people with propaganda.

"Political correctness is fascism disguised as good manners." -- George Carlin
George Carlin, a guy that no one would accuse of being a Republican, gave us those great words. Being politically incorrect shouldn't be a tool to bash those who merely want to tell the truth. Unfortunately, there are those who like to bully others and that covers both sides of the political fence, whether it would be Hillary (trashing women who accused her husband of misdeeds) and Trump (making fun of the disabled).

Being polite is considered enabling Nazis, fascists on one side, being a cuck or a sheepie on the other.
