I'm from a very hardcore conservative area where people are very religious in all the wrong ways. They use religion to support war, hate on anyone who isn't cisgender, hate on anyone who isn't like them, & believe it's every man for himself. I really do NOT understand why they call themselves Christians when their beliefs are the polar opposite of what Jesus taught. I went to a couple Catholic skewls & was taught about Jesus's teachings. This said I have NO problem with religious people who are respectful of others & there are many Christians & other religious people who follow Jesus's teachings. I consider myself a Secular Humanist. My girlfriend is on the spectrum too however & used to be Christian thou she also used to celebrate all the Jewish holidays as well because Christians used to be Jews. She got away from Christianity because she realized how hateful some Christians were & she realized the teachings/beliefs didn't quite make sense to her. She now considers herself a Pantheist & is very spiritual which I don't relate to at all but these differences don't really affect our realtionship thou she does kinda wish I was more spiritual so she could talk to me more about that stuff.

Obey one religion and you disobey another. Which hell are you more afraid of, is it a contest between who's hell is worse?

Religious folks can be like that as well. Believe me.

And any one who says that you should NEVER be in a relationship with someone who's outside of Christianity is just being an Anti-NonChristian.

And, again, it really sickens me that some Christains are pressuring other people into either become Christains themselves, or else be "burned in Hell". IMHO, I don't think those people really know ANYTHING about other religions outside of Christianity and Athiesm (at times, they get confused with 'Misothiesm'). Other religions that actually exists include Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Shinto, Wicca, Paganism (Greek, Norse, Egyptian, etc.), and many others.

True, but it doesn't help when you're holy book is telling you do to these things.

Nope, Jesus spoke to people considered sexually immoral and treated them as equals
It says to let God judge people, not you. Take the plank out of your own eye before pointing out the speck in your brothers
Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's
Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.

You shouldn't speak of things you don't know.

Obviously, you're either reading the wrong "holy" book, or you're reading the right one in the wrong way.

The Bible promotes homophobia, judgments against "witches", and the concept of thoughtcrime. Don't even get me started on the Torah or the Koran.

Those Levitican laws you cite ARE part of the Torah.

And Jesus said, "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy." (Matthew 5:7)

And Jesus said, "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." (Matthew 5:17)

And Jesus said, "Do not judge, or you will be judged. For with the same judgment you pronounce, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." (Matthew 7:1)

Jesus fulfilled the law by paying the price for our sins. He directs us to be merciful toward others, even sinners (because we are ALL sinners), and to not judge one another (because we are ALL sinners).

Yeah, I know ... a lot of "religious" people don't seem to have read Jesus' "Sermon On the Mount". They should.

They should also take it a face value and not try to impose their own legalistic rationalizations upon it.

And Jesus said, "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." (John 13:34)

I know, I'm a Jew. But Christians often distance themselves from the Original Testament...

^Yeah, do people even REALISE that many of the people back then were once Jews as well? Giving them the right to forsake their own history?

I believe Jesus teached things like tolerance & forgiveness. However lots of Christians are being taught the polar opposite by their leaders. Take a hard long look at conservative politicians who preach god as a reason to hate on homosexuals & restrict women's rites

Of course there are those who twist it to fit agendas, but that shouldn't reflect on god himself or his teachings.
Picture this, you are a world known celebrity. One of your fans, using your name and publicly declaring himself a fan, goes on a killing spree, is it your fault?
