The only thing I can think of when I see or hear Bernie is the image of an old snake oil salesman who goes from town to town. That's what comes to mind for me. It just does.

Bernie is just sort of your old-time New York liberal (even though he’s a Senator from Vermont).

Sort of an anachronism—but if people buy into his national health insurance-type scheme—who knows?

He’s not a con man.

He might not understand the concerns of Middle America—unless he hires someone from there to consult with him.

Maybe but it seems he made most of his cash off book deals.

I've said it many times and for many years: Proponents and politicians who support socialism and/or communism as preferred forms of governance would NEVER be the advocates that they are if they wouldn't be allowed to be members of a ruling class.

One year maximum in a politburo then in the proletariat for the rest of your life like everyone else, period. Funny how none of them would ever agree to such a concept. Why not?

His views supporting a 2-state solution are the same as everyone else on the Hill who doesn't only support Israel's right to exist, even if that means Palestine as a state never comes into being (basically where we are and where we're headed right now). Even Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, the first two Congresspeople to support BDS, favor a 2-state solution. Nothing unique about Sanders in this regard.

Bernie Sanders is too good for America. He could've easily been one of the best presidents ever.

Yeah which is just a fraud. The US continues to pay to build racial colonies in what would be the Palestinian state. It has been a trick the whole way along. One state for all is the only way. His views in the US compared to his views about Israel are light years apart.

I feel similarly, I mean I like a lot of ideas Bernie has championed but he is very old and I think it would be better to get someone younger. As of now though it seems as though Bernie and Biden are in the lead so far as support...I'd rather have Bernie than Biden, but I'd prefer to see a younger candidate more in touch with millenials who are the late 20's/middle aged adults of the current period. The boomers had their chance, now its time for some fresh blood.

At least that what I think.

I heard he uses a lot of stuff to avoid paying as much taxes as possible and if he was truely for what he says he’d lead by example and give up $52% of his income a year or more. He’d only take what a low middle class needs to live and donate the rest to help the poor. But he enjoys being a millionaire and having multiple mansions and cars.

The 1% don't pay their fair share, they haven't for decades. If you aren't aware, the tax rate on the wealthy 50-60 years ago was something like 80-90%. Imagine trying to pass something like that nowadays! lol The 1% are the problem b/c they control the economy and b/c money has dominated US politics for over 40 years, they control the political system. Do you really think more than a handful of them wanna go back to a more progressive tax system or more equity in income and wealth distribution when they and maybe another 9% of the population at most at this point have made out like bandits the last 40+ years, on the backs of the rest of us? There's a reason Bernie and the freshman class and a few other progressives in the congress (AOC, Rho Khanna, Tulsi Gabbard, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and some others) wail all the time about these issues b/c they were elected to do just that.

I'm not here to plug Bernie, but if you watched any of his town hall Monday night on Fox News there was a reason that room kept cheering almost in unison every time he brought up Medicare for All, a Green New Deal to create 15 million or so new jobs, getting the wealthy to pay their fair share of taxes, etc. Because that's what people want, by large majorities including democrats, most independents and even many republicans. That's also why he's now leading Biden and the rest of the democrats in the latest national poll for 2020 and why he's the most popular politician in the country.
