Initially, it was sort of a “hugfest,” in relative terms. That’s what Lincoln wanted.

Then, Radical Reconstruction sort of ruined it.

Be it white supremacist terrorism or lost cause thinking, the refusal to accept and constant attempts often successfully to reverse the defeat played a large role.

Honestly I'd rather serve time in prison or be executed even. At least I would die knowing that I didn't support Amuuurrrrica's constant thirst for blood and war under the illusion of "serving my country".

Neither. I want to see hippies roaming in pods to one large area in order to stop any of these two things from happening. They can teach the militants the beauty of peace, love and life.
