Yet another right-wing dirtbag (  ) came out defending Andy Ngo, this time the infamous Sam Harris:

edit: More than 5:00 in... holy *crap* is he laying into AntiFa!

edit: 7:30 crap.... I think this career mile-mark level derision.

It is common practice to post a link to an article and then also provide what's written in it inside a quote box. I believe this practice is used just in case someone can not get the link to open.

It is a matter of preference. I have been criticized for providing a link without quotes. Sometimes I comment on the link right away sometimes I don’t. For a news story I may not comment if I do not have and opinion or feel like I am too ignorant on the topic for an opinion. If I post an opinion piece and do not immediately comment on it is usually because I agree with what the author is saying most or all of what the author is saying or the jist of what the author is saying. I could try and say the same thing myself but if I choose to quote somebody else it is because I feel they are saying it better the I could because unlike me they are professional writers. Often if I do not comment right away I will comment on a comment.

Antifa: Just another fascist group?
Apparently, some of its members act in such a way that would suggest they are.

Quote:
For the inaugural episode of Bret Weinstein's DarkHorse Podcast, Bret sits down with Andy Ngo to discuss the recent attack he suffered from Antifa during protests in downtown Portland. This is Mr. Ngo's first long-form interview after he was hospitalized for a brain hemorrhage sustained at the hands of Antifa rioters in downtown Portland, on June 29, 2019. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aC4u1zo ... ploademail

How ironic.
How hypocritical.

In some ways perhaps....

but I cannot get over the fact that most more right wing leaning people will constantly complain about the left, but they don't have any words of criticism whatsoever for Trump and his GOP, they have almost completely blind trust in nothing. LIke yeah I get there is corruption on the left, the democratic party is also corrupt...but IDK how that undoes the problems Trump causes.

I mean its as if they can only see flaws in the democratic/left side but essentialy go as far as denying history and making up alternative story lines to defend the narrative that whites are under attack and thus need to defend themselves from all the defiled immigrants or whatever. Its just disgusting to me and I want no part of it. But I hate people who are all like, 'we have to think of the children' but then are perfectly ok with Trump locking up children on the border. I mean cool you have privilege that your kid will never end up in that situation, I guess you deserve a huge pat on the back...NOT!. Those people are desperate and just trying to find a better life, they aren't cold hearted criminals and rapists they are regular people seeking assylum in a place that could potentially provide it. I cannot be proud of that immigrant man and his daughter drowning because at the designated crossing they were denied entry to apply for assylum and thus took desperate measures that they were unable to survive.

But that said I can get complaining about both sides and this and that. But I just don't get right wingers who soley complain about the left. As if everyone with more leftist ideas is a horrible SJW who wants to oppress everones freedom of speech so that there is no freedom left whatsoever. Apparently we want a one world government for the sole purpose of oppressing everyone else...ect and bla bla bla. I mean liberal is essentially a dirty word, if someone says you're a liberal you can be sure its an insult. Happens all the time on this site and if a person like me even so much as suggests that maybe things are gettin a bit rediculous with the constant left hate on this site that makes a person like me feel I should probably not post here because well apprantly there are even 4 chan entusiasts here and I don't care to be bullied in that way again. I mean this is a site where apparently people now talk about how great 4chan the place for a**hole bulliess is a great mind opener...I mean honestly IDk how much longer I can participate in this site based on that.

I had to deal with 4chan a**holes back when facebook forums where a thing.....they said so many mean and nasty things about how I looked based on one profile picture I still feel super ugly whenever I look at myself. Like maybe they were right that I have no neck....even though I clearly have one. That is all I got from 4 chan people, mean hate and abuse about my ugly face in my profile pictures. So IDK how autistic people here would find value in such a thing but not sure I want to stay on a site with self admitted 4 channers, I don't need to be put down like that again.

Not fascist, but anarcho-communist, which is the other extreme.

@Sweetleaf: I think there are much more conservatives who are willing to stand up to Trump than people think, but they are afraid to out of fear of being primaried out or being called “RINO’s”. I mean, it drove Justin Amash to leave the party.

Trump, alt right terrorists give Antifa and their enablers validation and excuses they should not have.

Because the alt right terrorists in general have been a lot more lethal lately I understand that it is tempting to think of Antifa and hate speech laws as necessary evils or the lesser of two evils.

Once you give away freedom of expression out of fear, because people abuse these rights, because some people claim free speech only when it suits their agenda, because some people do not deserve those rights you are not likely to get it back. Just look at privacy which for all intents and purposes we have given away for convenience and out of fear of terrorism.

Alt right terrorism particularly the Atomwaffen Division is a potential existential threat. But for the most part they are on the very fringes of American society on sites such as 4Chan. While Antifa are also fringe their view of silencing the “wrong” speech has agency at top universities and trendy companies such as Google. There is every reason to fear our future is one of more censorship via intimidation.

You can always recognize peaceful protestors by their black masks and clubs.

[Mod]Merged two threads on the same incident, both of which were near the top of page 1.

Only listening to one side of the story, instantly jumping to conclusions, and calling for state violence.

He's trying to call on the state to uphold laws that it has on the books as far as keeping the peace. Part of how the extremes on both the right and left get excited and feel they need to do their own flavor of vigilantism is because the agency that's supposed to have that competence - in their eyes - is melting down. It may very well be that on a lot of parameters this is the case but - you need enough adults on board for all the nuance of that sort of discussion. In the meantime he's calling on law enforcement to punish violence on any side - which it should.

The government already throws enough people in cages. No thanks.

Hmm. I only know German statistics (which is where I live, but I'm not a German national).
Here, left wing crimes slightly outnumbered right wing crimes in 2017 (latest year with available statistics) BUT the majority of left wing crime in 2017 was trespassing during the G20summit/protests.

When it comes to VIOLENT crime, right wing outnumber leftwing violent incidences at 2:1.
And again, the majority of left wing violence in 2016 was during the G20 protests (i.e. aimed at police in riot gear)
Whereas rightvwing violence was mainly targetting people of different skin colour.

So... Yeah, I'm with Antifa and Indiana Jones on this one.
And I'd like to argue this way: the law has to treat everyone equally, but the individual must make a moral choice - and face the legal consequence.
Meaning: it's arguably moral to attack white supremacists and nazis, but definitely not legal, and it shouldn't ever be legal, because enacting violence against another human *must* be a tough moral decision.

Legally guilty and morally guilty are two different things, and they need to be to acknowledge that law can not adequately reflect morals and grey areas.

What criteria do you propose we use to prevent public outpourings of violence back and forth across groups and cyclical vigilante justice?

I don't agree with the framing of this question. Vigilante is too broad of a category. It lumps together people with wildly different goals and praxis. George Washington for example was a vigilante.

I find this level of discourse to be way too truncated and simplistic.
