that demonstrates a fundamental misunderstanding of our economy over here- the immigrants from south of the border are doing the jobs amuuuuricans can't and won't do [squat labor]. i certainly can no longer squat in the hot sun all day picking produce. they are not stealing other categories of jobs, by and large. and the tax cuts most certainly did NOT create any new jobs. combined with his other actions there has been a net drain of jobs here. and to say that he did not use racial appeals is laughable, esp. in light of his "s**thole countries" remark and the many calumnies he has heaped upon hard-working latinos. no, your reality is not mine.
No, that's what legal immigration is for if you have jobs that Americans won't fill. And if they're legal immigrants, they're American citizens.
There is no evidence he ever said "s**thole countries" though. Someone said he did, he said he didn't.

that is a legalism. making desperate poor people jump through impossible hoops [passports] is just mean, esp. when we amuuuricans created the conditions down there they are fleeing. personally i think it should be an open border down there. i believe not a word of faux news, they are just racist progaganda. and for the price of his stoooooopid boondoggle wall he could boost the border patrol effectively.
And this is no doubt the crux of why you're against Trump. Feeling that way will massively change your perception of him.
The border guys seem to be in favour of the wall. He's had them speak on his behalf about it. I would have thought they would tell him if they thought the money would be better spent on manpower.

i am more against the GOP in its present larcenous form, than i am against The Dotard. the GOP is all about sticking it to the working class any way it can. i am a single-issue voter, affordable health care is my issue, and for the better part of a century the GOP has opposed that. they see health care is a privilege strictly for wealth. the poor are just lumpenproles, disposable, when one breaks down, kick 'em to the curb. until they change that cold-blooded philosophy, i will never vote for any GOPer.
I can respect that single issue. But I don't think the Democrats will deliver it either, though I do think it seems more likely with the Democrats, but still slim chance. Sadly, public opinion just doesn't seem to have the weight behind it that would make it desirable to seriously campaign on. Even gay marriage is not opposed by the GOP because of the opinion shift. So beware of pinning your hopes for this on the Democrats. I am fortunate to come from a country with universal healthcare, and even your American adverts on medical products make my skin crawl. I feel a revulsion deep inside me, it's a perversion that's just wrong. These are not decisions ordinary people should have to make in life, doctors should be making these decisions. I think it's that it's commercialised that gets such a visceral reaction out of me.
Some time ago I had a theory and checked it out.
I found a long list of articles comparing Obama to Hitler.
Then I found the same for Bush.
How about this one [Bill] Clinton and Hitler Compared
There's nothing new about this.

gay marriage is still opposed, they are actively working to overturn the SCOTUS decision on that. at present, is a case in the docket of enabling legal discrimination against LGBT for what amounts to any reason at all. the GOP are just as they were a century ago, just as backwards. they will never evolve. the democrats at least throw me a crumb now and then. the GOP just gives me the back of their gloved hand. and the GOP didn't oppose slavery for any reason other than it would help to defeat the south by denying them the use of their slaves who propped up their evil economy. lincoln himself said that if he could preserve the union without freeing the slaves, he would have done so.

I suppose if the GOP have nothing to offer you, then unless you want to go third party, then the choice is clear. I don't know about what you say at the start of your post, I do know both parties produce crazy bills that thankfully usually don't make it through the system to become laws. If it's a serious push and not just another one of those bills destined for the trash, then I certainly oppose it.
It can be amusing when the slavery thing gets thrown in the faces of leftists to knock them off their pedestals, but of course, there's nothing of value to be gained from looking at what these parties were doing so long ago. What matters is what they're doing now and what they intend to do in the future.

TRUMP speaks to the poor, uncultured, lower educated, manual labor workers.
I CARE ABOUT YOU.
Democrats call them names and make fun of them.
RACIST, MISYGONIST, XENOPHONIC, BACKWARDS, UNEDUCATED, UNCULTURED, POOR.
Democrats seem to have an elitist mindset that they know better then everyone else, and everyone who doesn't behave like them is an idiot.
SNL has had several skits where TRUMP supporters are portrayed as idiots.

Same s**t, different toilet. It does nothing to promote rational discussion about how we got here. I guarantee you, putting another respectable looking, phony face at the top of the pyramid will do nothing to address the disease that infects our system. People just go back to sleep, and in another four years, vote in another corrupt neoliberal. That's how we got here in the first place.

Drake, you need to take an American civics course, as you are exposing your ignorance of our laws. Legal immigrants are NOT citizens. They have a "green card" that gives them permission to be in the country and work. Legal immigrants and citizens are NOT overlapping categories.
AB is absolutely correct: it is the illegal immigrants who do the work that no American would ever do. The farmers can't provide cheap veggies and poultry without them. The work is by the piece and no where near minimum wage. And there are no tips like wait staff get.
You are entitled to your opinion. But not your own versions of the facts.

The Nazis also used the term "infestation" to describe Jews. Jesus Christ. No human "infests" a country.
Such rhetoric is a precursor to genocide and mass murder. It is stage number 3 of the 8 stages of genocide:

While there are many things a president cannot do to change the lives of US people, there are some that do, whether for good or for bad, from your perspective or from other perspectives.
Richard Nixon sent hundreds of thousands of young men to their deaths in a undeclared war in SE Asia. His election enabled the continuation of this war. His lies to the American people about how we were "winning" the war took years and years to expose as lies.
Lyndon Johnson, for all his failures with the Vietnam War, put through the most extensive civil rights laws since slavery was abolished. Although largely forgotten at this point in time, at the time it was revolutionary and directly affected the lives of millions.
Ronald Regan directly impacted the lives of millions of college age orphans and all those going into the future to today, by cutting Social Security benefits to beneficiaries going to college. Instead he cut it off at age 18. No one even now expects this, but it was one way young people, young orphaned people, could afford college.
I can go on. The attitude that the person of the president does not affect how our lives are lived is uninformed or lazy.
I grant you there is a lot of corruption. There is a lot going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. But that is no excuse for not learning about history, civics and the current issues of the day.
AB put up some interesting information. Some can see immediately what is meant with this list. Others want to dis it. If you want to deny the legitimacy of the list, why not give examples? If you think the same list can be made about Obama and Hitler, lets see it. Or, we could look at what these things actually mean. We could research, even if only on Wikipedia, and find out what the definitions of dictator are. Just for example.
