Yes, that is very wrong ... if those black people did not request those seats.  Personally, I like sitting in the back of the restaurant (or bus) because it's usually quieter and less busy back there.
I'm talking about restaurants where you have to be seated by the host or hostess.
So am I.

We must live in different parts of the country. Where I am, whites and non-whites have roughly equal numbers, with non-whites having a slight edge.

I often request "one of the quiet booths in the back" just so I can enjoy the dining experience, and not have to put up with all the noise and bother of large groups in the front.

Where did I ever deny that bigotry exists? LOL

I live in NYC. I grew up around bigotry. I know it very well.

I never said you did, :P but you know as well as I do that there are many people in this country that do deny that racism, sexism, and homophobia still exists.

Maybe you're right and it's a regional issue? After all I live in the land of racist Confederate flags. :P

Sure, bigotry exists. But this thread is about the ways conforming to Political Correctness has caused some businesses to suffer economically and even go out of business.

I know the distinction is subtle, but it's an important one to make.

I would rather sit in the back of the restaurant myself.

Maybe about 20 years ago, a black couple had an issue with being given a table by a bathroom at a Denny's restaurant. It wasn't in the South. They felt like it was discrimination. They sued. I believe they won.

Why derail this thread to apocryphal stories of alleged racially-motivated incidents?

It is intended to be about how the PC/SJW culture is putting companies and people out of business.

I'm not trying to derail it, I was offering my own opinion about why I think it's BS the way so-called political correctness is "bad for business".

We were taking about being excluded, or being discriminated against, because of some characteristic or other.

If somebody insists on sitting me by a bathroom at a restaurant, they won't get my business....

For all intents and purposes, it's like being refused service, or being made to pander to an interest group.

There are obvious instances--many of them---of "political correctness" ruining the day of some people, and ruining the career of others.

Yeah, like the Chick-fil-a thing. Despite the fact that I am gay myself I dont believe in trying to ruin a man's business just because he disagrees with homosexuality due to his religous beliefs.

Besides I love their waffle fries! :chef:

I have to wonder ... Are those bakeries that were forced to provide custom-made products to people they don't like still in business?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for fair and equal treatment, but I'm concerned that the PC Police, the Social-Justice Warriors, and the socially-progressive population in general do not fully realize the economic impact of their efforts.

FYI:

The bakery that didn't want to bake a cake for a gay wedding didn't get sued because of the refusal, they got sued because they published the couple's information (effectively "doxxing" them.)

Arreeouhhg?

A gay couple that has "come out" and wants to celebrate their love with a wedding and reception are offended at being "outed"?

Sorry ... I don't get it.

From what I understand, the bakery owners published the gay couple's private information on the internet thus allowing the owners' Christian fundy friends to harass the couple.

The couple was "out" as gay, but they certainly didn't care for the harassment.

Ah! Now I get it. "Get Woke, Go Broke" had nothing to do with it, sexist bigotry did. If that bakery shuts down, I'll not shed a single tear.
