Most American soldiers aren't like that.

Most just want to get their benefits; maybe a few want military glory---but most want to just serve their enlistment time, then move on with their lives.

There are quite a few people who have been in the military right here on WrongPlanet. They wouldn't like it if you claimed that all soldiers are into raping and maiming people.

I really don't care. Look, I'm not saying all soldiers are bad people, but when our president is pardoning war criminals saying that our soldiers are supposed to be "killing machines" I think we SHOULD be ashamed of ourselves!

Why aren't more Americans bothered by this???

Trump is sending a message that our soldiers do not have to be held accountable for crimes against civilians and captured POWs and that is f****d up!

That is messed up, but it is true plenty of people have served in the military and have not committed war crimes. I mean even the military itself was not so keen on Trumps decision to pardon them but due to the nature of how politics work and the president being commander in chief they could not really interfere.

I was bothered, but there are so many other things to be bothered about as well it gets exhausting...so I didn't post about it but yeah I heard about it and did not think it was a good decision on Trumps part.

Also I hate all the stuff I hear about donating money to help veterens. I am not against helping veterans but they served in the military like shouldn't the government like take care of them afterwards like make sure they have a place to live at least? I hate seeing homeless veterens on the street but like where is the U.S government now after they have served and come home disabled? The veterans need charity, but why? Shouldn't the people who sent them over-seas to be maimed have some responsibility in guaranteeing them at lest a place to stay when they come home?

I agree, whenever I see signs that say "Support our troops!" It bothers me because I dont feel like we are so much "supporting our troops" as we are "supporting war". As you said our great government hardly does anything to really take care of them after they have went through the hell of war :|
