All Catholic Churches in Portland are now closed until April 14th, so no Holy Week services
nor any services on Easter Sunday.

Same in South Carolina. Man does that ever suck.

Religion: "Pray even in times of pestilence and plagues."

Also religion: "Stay home and die in your own house."

The pandemic has had no impact on my attendance of religious services, I haven't stepped inside a church since I graduated from Catholic school. (I actually made a point of skipping that side of the event since as far as I was concerned, I had the piece of paper, they had no further ability to demand that I attend)

This really depends on the church service. If you look at a Catholic Church doing Latin Mass, people spread out and don't touch except maybe before and after, while last time I went to a sports game, there was a lot of bumping on the way in and out.

I am for all groups (both pro sports & religious groups) following the advice / mandates of those in public health. My point was more that grouping religious services as worse than big sporting events is not fair - both can be problems in different ways. Every time I've gone to a pro sporting event, there has been a lot more touching or close contact with others I don't regularly associate with than at Church although I can see people having the opposite experience. My point was that there is far more overlap than a kind of binary "church is worse for spreading germs than pro-sports."
