One distinction between Boomers and Gen-Xers is that Boomers tend to remember the Vietnam War much more than Generation X-ers.

One of my friends is only two years younger...but he remembers very little about Vietnam and Martin Luther King; whereas both are indelible memories to me.

Very good point,I'm a X'er I don't have any memory of Vietnam but I remember being given an Army helmet by a man who lived next door who had just come back from Vietnam in recent years. This would have been 77 78 ish,my mother said he was damaged by the war,he was very quiet, didn't talk.

But I still remember being given that old Army helmet but this a couple years after Vietnam's end.

As an X'er that's the closest to a memory of Vietnam that I have. But I definitely remember Iran hostage's and Reagan being shot.

^ Whereas I’m a millennial, my first memory of American political news is the Lewinski affair and ensueing impeachment of President Clinton.
I do remember something about a gulf war, and an operation desert storm: but it’s all fuzzy, I definitely wasn’t at the time aware there was a President Bush, or a Kuwait.

Don't you mean November 9, 1989 (the fall of the Berlin Wall)?

I don't think so.

Thanks.

I figured that it was sumpin to do with his country of Lebanon. But choose to let him do the work of explaining it. But...you did it for him. And that certainly would be memorable. The neighboring country's army tearing up your country.

I remember hearing on the radio that the Vietnam War had ended. I was near my parents' sunroom playing with my new purple combination lock for my bicycle, and our swimming pool was being dug with big bulldozers.

Friday, November 22, 1963: I learn what the words "President", "Motorcade", and "Assassination" mean.

I was one-plus months from turning three, and in a severe autistic state, when Kennedy was assassinated.

I remember the King and Robert Kennedy assassinations very well. I was seven then, and not so oblivious.

Just google it :P.

I do remember plenty of stuff before that date even, but I can't pinpoint any of it to a specific date / event.

Actually I DID google that date, but just got a bunch of silly crap. I could have googled that date plus "Lebanon", but then I got lazy I decided that that was ABOUT the same time that the Cold War was ending so it might have something to do with that.
