Rebel News is Canada's home for white nationalist and alt-right propaganda. They're not rebels, just revolting. They're not quite Stormfront but they're similar to Breitbart.

Ezra Levant is known for regularly making bigoted comments towards Idle No More and regard indigenous people more broadly. Faith Goldy was employed by them but now works more broadly and more openly within white supremacist groups. She's also ran for mayor of Toronto on an openly white supremacist platform, needless to say it didn't take.

Rebel news is based in Australia, I believe.

There is a Rebel News based in Australia, but this is Ezra Levant's Rebel News/Rebel Media company.

Maybe that's how you view the world, but I've never been naive enough to believe that one 'side' is inherently good and the other evil. That doesn't mean different factions are equally dishonest, some are worse than others and right-wing media has been consistently more dishonest throughout our lives.

Far right wing media is garbage propaganda designed to stoke fears of others and promote white supremacy.

I sometimes watch/listen to some of the crap from Fox News just to see what kind of BS their audience swallows and likes. It’s gross.

Sadly the traitor's rag and other imagery associated with the war of southern treachery are celebrated much more widely than just in the former CSA states.

They're plentiful around here too. Ontario wasn't a CSA state so when you see one you know the person isn't embracing someone else's heritage, they just want to tell the world they're racist.

I just remember several years back (speaking of Rebel News) that Ezra had a falling out with much of the staff, almost everyone left (Gavin McInnes and Laura Southern at about the same time), they threw out Faith Goldie for reasons related to Charlottesville, and they ended up Laura Loomer who was much more like a right-wing SJW. They could have gotten more interesting again but admittedly I stopped watching.

The problem with antagonizing groups or organizations deliberately to prove a point is it needs to be done incredibly well, and there's a place where the incentives split - ie. that if you go in brash, confrontational, and do this as though you're making fun of them and throwing the red meat down on the table then you've got something that's really spicy for social media clicks but it doesn't prove a point to anyone whose not in your social tribe (it does reinforce your social tribe and their allegience though) and to them it just looks like two groups or a***holes had it out - who cares. The other bifurcation - you could do something very low-profile or subtle that has a passable excuse, do so in a way that it's not attention-grabbing and to where they'd need to be specifically looking for it to have an abreaction, and there's a chance that they won't bite - and a chance that they will and if they do it'll likely be more informative, but the problem there - it's not click-baity and doing that will give you less in-group boost and it's possible as well that you'll get a much less pronounced result. The first will clearly pay your bills, the second quite likely won't. Obviously none of that reflects well on the incentive structures that the media has to work with.

I think the chaz thing was a dumb strategy for the left, but the murderers are most likely right-wing s**theads. It isn't like people just start murdering each other as soon as police disappear under normal circumstances. Police are never particularly good at stopping murders. 40% of killings are unsolved even in normal circumstances. Police are good at catching people with small amounts of illegal substances or just harassing people in general for looking "suspicious" though. They kinda suck at preventing violent crime.

And yet it happens every single time there’s no police.
Humans are horrible and only kept in check by laws enforced by police.

That's dumb as hell. Complete fascist propaganda. I hardly ever see police in my neighborhood, yet people aren't constantly f*****g murdering each other. People act horrible when they've been intentionally deprived of economic subsistence for decades.

I'd also add that many of the police themselves are horrible people. Just recently some pigs were recorded baying for blood... they wanted a race war so they could massacre black people. Is it any wonder nobody trusts police these days? You can't use other horrible people to police what you describe as horrible people.

^ Apparently some think you're not supposed to watch Rebel News, Cockney. I've never heard of Rebel News, but it's common for some people to completely discredit and discount anything reported from a news source said people deem to be "alt-right" or "white nationalist" (the terms seem to be used interchangeably/synonymously but that's for purposeful effect). A news source discredited as biased by some could report that Christmas falls on December 25th each year and said people would fixate on the news source itself rather than whether the information was factual.

You're welcome to rely on whatever news sources you like and I'm entitled to not respect them due to their obvious ideological biases. I'm not interested in telling you whether or not you should rely on propaganda mills, I'm just not going to pretend they're not propaganda mills. Whining that I won't pretend your propaganda mills are legitimate sources won't make them gain anything resembling credibility.

Propaganda mills being relegated exclusively to the "right". That's THE best laugh I'll have all day. I can guarantee it. I do wish WP had a ROFL emoji. You and I do agree that propaganda masquerading as "news" is alive and well in the U.S.

All mainstream news in the US is a business. They feed off political division. But nobody on the right ever notices that CNN and MSNBC aren't actually left wing because they NEVER talk about issues pertaining to the ordinary lives of working class people. Instead it's all "Trump tweeted this... Trump tweeted that... Trump lies... derp derp derp". Sorry if you're insulted that a lot of the media is attacking the guy you voted for... and that by proxy hurts your little feelings... but get over it and use your brain.

Agreed.

But then again, maybe he’s just projecting and this is actually a call for help signal that sly welcomes police coming to remove his guns from his possession before he commits horrible acts of gun violence with them simply because no one came to keep him in check? :chin:
