I dont dislike the guy Im voting for. But I dont have that JFK/Reagan/Obama type of awe of him either.

Im voting for him because I am really voting against the other guy.

The guy I am voting for has had a long career in politics and has a ruff-around-the edges way about him which can by turns rub you the wrong way, and then the right way.

But I do feel as if I met him because I heard him speak at length before a live intimate audience at the National Press Club on the radio in circa 2000 (was delivering papers in the middle of the night- and would listen to ANY thing on the radio).

He was quite good at the back and forth, and at story telling, and was quite entertaining. When they asked about Monica Lewinsky he said "if she had been my daughter I would have come looking for him (ie he would have kicked Clinton's ass)".

Other topics were covered. The talk ended with him quoting Nelson Mandela saying that the greatest thing for Mandela when they freed him from prison was "being able to vote"- something about how this candidate described how Mandela described the emotions associated with simply being able to cast a ballot(even if you hafta wait in a long line)...was incredibly moving, and inspiring, and still sticks with me.

I wish I didn’t HAVE to vote for the guy I am voting for.

I wish we had a person who is above the political fray. Even Governor Cuomo, contrary to his claims, is not above the political fray.

I will be voting.

My decision results from a mixture of not liking the other guy and their policies, liking my candidates policies a little bit, and feeling neutral about the individual themselves. Close family members have done questionable things and rumors float around, but they also have personal life history events that I feel might ground them.

I love the person I plan to vote for. He's a patriot, a uniter, respects our laws, believes in a civilized society, defends religion freedom, the right to self-defense (2nd amendment), supports peaceful protesters while enforcing laws against arsonists and rioters who destroy black owned businesses and violently assault the police who keep us safe. He respects ALL Americans (he doesn't seek to divide Americans based on gender or skin color but believes everyone should be treated equally). He supports Martin Luther King Jr's dream of a color blind society where people are judged based on merit instead of the color of their skin. He believes black lives matter (not just the 1 or 2 killed by the police each year that some use for their political advantage but also the 7,000 a year who are victims of homicide and the millions who were murdered before they left the womb.

I haven't done my full pre-election research, but it's extremely likely that what I'll be doing is just voting against one candidate even if I have to just choose who I think is less bad instead of someone I actually think is a good choice.

Not sure who I'll be voting for yet - I just have to make sure I get my vote posted before October 23 to ensure it arrives on time and is counted...I'll wait until closer to that date to see what each candidate is offering.

Then just need to wait until mid-November to see what the results are.

I'm registered to vote in Florida but I moved back home to Georgia. I'd have to register to vote here in Georgia but my Mom has been too busy and too sick to do a lot of driving so she can't drive me to get registered. I'm unable to drive myself.

I just don't think I'll get the chance. :(

Georgia allows you to register online it looks like...
https://registertovote.sos.ga.gov/GAOLVR/welcometoga.do#no-back-button

Doesn't it cost money though? And I'm sure it requires additional information for me to register. Honestly I would need my Mom's help to do that because I wouldn't have a clue. I might suggest it to her though so thanks for the link. :)

I'm pretty sure charging someone to vote is illegal. It amounts to a poll tax.

I like Biden well enough. And perhaps as important, I feel very safe with his choice for Veep.

What do you mean by "being above the political fray"? How is it possible (or even desirable?)for any politician in a democracy to be "above the political fray"?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding how it works but last time I registered to vote in Florida was when I got my ID Card (like a Driver's License only it does not permit me to drive) and I think it cost like $30, maybe that was more for the ID Card than actually registering to vote... I dunno. :?

I still haven't decided who I'm voting for, but I do plan to vote.

I'm not happy with the main two options. I don't normally vote democrat or republican because of issues I have with both parties. Last go round I voted for one party because I hated the other candidate so much. I don't know if I can be bothered to do that again this time. I actually felt bad about it after because I like to vote for people/platforms I actually can get behind, I felt like a sell out or something. I don't know if I can do that again even though I do find one of the candidates a disgusting human being on several levels. We shall see.

I'll also be voting for Biden & Harris.

Trump has turned the country into the laughingstock of the world and its interesting that many in his inner circle have turned their backs on him over the course of the past four years.
