A good gray wine.

Squid is pretty nice if cooked well. Tastes and feels like rubber if not. Dont eat the squid at asian buffets.

As for the alien: did it land in a spaceship, or did it kinda just plummet to earth on its own?

As for wine, probably a good orange vintage.

Buzz Aldrin in reverse?

An actual intelligent alien astronaut that journeyed to the earth across 100s of lightyears of interstellar space to reach the earth. Lands in you backyard. And you shoot and kill him, and then....cook him up, and eat him?

Presumably he would be the product of billions of years of evolution on a separate planet, completely separate from the evolution of humankind, and thus would not even be in the same phylum, or even taxonomic "kingdom" as you. Much less the same species as you. So it wouldnt be "murder", nor "cannibalism", any more than harvesting and eating spinach is murder and cannibalism. But it wouldnt be a very nice thing to do.

And terrestrial scientists would be apoplectic that you found priceless evidence of extraterrestrial life and just ... ate it!

Maybe he was just a lone backpack tourist.

Backpackers are annoying regardless of species.

We dont know. If he were silicon based instead of carbon based then he would be composed of quartz rock! And even if he were carbon based you body might not be able to digest him. Even among earth organisms: the only critters that can digest cockroaches are other cockroaches, and no animal can digest wood. Even termites cant digest wood, but rely on bacteria in their stomachs to do it. So his "meat" might just pass right through you undigested.

Reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw, “If it’s tourist season, why can’t we shoot them?”

From the alien's viewpoint mightn't you be either a dangerous animal or an interstellar terrorist?

From your friends' viewpoints mightn't you be either a poor cook or a poisoner?

(Uh. Does Johnny Rockets serve green meat???)

Probably a psycho-murderer, at least when your friends start dropping dead at the table from eating something that's likely poisonous. Before that - shooting the ET - no clue.

Maybe the friends would evolve to something better.

A distinction without a difference, I'm sure some would argue.

Orange wine is an actual thing. Something to do with not removing the grapeskins when making white wine . No idea if it's good, bit it looks cool. Might go well with xenobiological BBQ.

Shooting the alien could be considered legit self-defense. But who knows if aliens are fit for human consumption?

If the aliens were not humble visitors in peace, but were arrogant imperialists who demanded that "you of Earth must now serve us" then yes...you could turn that classic sci fi story on it's head. The first earthling they encounter could take the word "serve" the wrong way...and do...exactly what the aliens demand( either out of malice, or ...because of innocent stupidity)!
