Looting/vandalism and the definition of "violent crime"

"Violent protest" is a colloquial term that differs somewhat from violent crime in that it does include looting and arson. Often looting and arson are accompanied by activities like attacking police. The media instead of saying "last nights protest was half violent crime and half property crime" will use the easier and less awkward phrasing "violent protest"

"Worse" is completely subjective. It depends on what you think of and how you rank the goals of the "left" and "right". Even if you view both sides goals as equally really bad should you judge "worse" by which side is more lethal or which side is more effective or some combination of the two?
