And we realize that with the slow decline of the American middle class, the Trump presidency is about the gentlest warning we can expect, right?

Regarding the slow decline of the middle class,

Please realize that we humans are often among our best in response to a fast-moving disaster like a hurricane, and often among our worst in response to a slow-moving one like a drought,

And which is this more like?
