This is patently false. Joe Exotic was tried in a federal court for a series of mostly federal crimes and resides in a federal penitentiary. State governors have no power to pardon at the federal level, just as the President can't pardon at the state level.
A federal jury found him guilty on two counts of hiring someone to murder Baskin in Florida, on eight counts of violating the Lacey Act by falsifying wildlife records, and on nine counts of violating the Endangered Species Act by killing five tigers and for selling tigers across state lines.Again, I've got this thing with people who declare their misguided and incorrect assumptions to be factual.
