It actually sounds quite attractive to me when I think I would just... dissolve. Stop being an individual. And the world will go on without me. It feels calming to me.

I think we are biologically wired not to think about death. Just a hunch, but the evidence is all around us.

My impression was the opposite, that everyone especially young folk especially fear death and that used to include me. There were chainmail questions on Facebook people used to send including the mystery around death. Death is fascinating.

I feel like I fear it more than I used to, lol I guess the whole non-existence thing is a bit off-putting. Even so it is fascinating I do like skeletons/bones so I keep any good ones I find out walking around(very small amount so far, but I am sure the collection will grow). I thought it was awesome my high-school science class had a real human skeleton from some woman who had donated her body to science. Also, I did get to see a rendition of the Body Worlds exhibit when I was a kid which very enjoyable I practically begged my mom to take me to that, not sure how many other kids would have been so excited about it.

My demise - even if untimely - will likely *not* destabilise the orbit of Jupiter and cause it to rampage through the inner solar system, wreaking havoc everywhere with its massive gravity well and effectively distinguishing all life on Earth.

But even if such an event was to occur, I'd already be dead, anyway, so it wouldn't be my problem.

We are, as Sting says, spirits in a material world.

This is because we have died an untimely death.

What Will Happen When You Die?

Depends on all kinds of things.. like what is fundamental.. MIND or MATTER... in our time.. the philosophy of Idealism.. is making great head way.. while materialism is no longer realistic.. in my opinion..

In our times.. the picture science paints is the universe is beginning to look.. more and more like a living entity.. and that what we might call - LIFE - is a PROCESS.. THAT BEGINS WITH A BIG BANG.

The first thing to take into consideration is.. we can not be sure about very much.. Chaos is built into the process.. maybe to encourage infinite change and diversity.. AND. is has been proved our knowledge can never be complete.. because what exists is far greater than we can ever begin to imagine.. and way beyond our understanding..

He who says he knows.. does not know.. says the ancient wisdom..

Stars create the material to form planets.. atmosphere.. etc.. Planets create the situation for simple life to arise.. However.. James Lovelock came up with the theory that planets themselves were a type of living organism.. by proposing the Gaia hypothesis.. which postulates that the Earth functions as a self-regulating system.. just as life does.. so.. why not the stars.. Why not waves or particles..? Could they be alive.. in their own unique way..? If so.. then maybe we need to broaden our definition of what the word - LIFE - means.. Teeth hair and bones are living.. but they do not immediately appear to be so.. but then neither do moons.. and planets.. unless we delve down into the activities of their unseen physics..

If we zoom out.. in our imagination.. for a moment.. until our universe appears just like an insignificant speck of dust.. maybe we would find our selves existing in a multiverse.. where an infinite activity of universes coming in and out of existence for eternity takes place.. Could this activity be seen as a living process.. universes being created and dying..with no beginning or end? Continually reproducing them selves..over an over again.. While... the multiverse.. as a WHOLE.. knows no death... Is this because ENERGY CAN NOT BE CREATED OR DESTROYED..?

Since science has proved.. beyond a reasonable doubt.. that everything is connected (while a FIELD THEORY.. that could explain this connectiveness.. still seems to be lacking) .. and we are ALL apart of something greater.. It seems entirely possible that when the body dies.. we are still connected with the ONENESS.. Meaning..the part of our self that we all share.. When someone speaks of ENLIGHTENMENT.. this is what they have experienced.. WE ARE ALL APART OF SOMETHING SO MUCH GREATER.. than what our day to day experience tells up.. WE ARE CREATORS!

“We living beings all belong to one another, we are all actually members or aspects of a single Being, which we may in western terminology call God, while in the Upanishads it is called Brahman.” - - - - “Quantum physics thus reveals a basic oneness of the universe.” - Erwin Schroedinger

CONCLUSION - TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION MYSTICAL EXEPRIENCES GAINED DURING DEEP MEDITATION.. AND THE FACT THAT LIFE DISCOVERES MANY DIVERVES MANNERS TO EXIST.. in terms of probability.. and what we now know.. in the area of natural philosophy.. it does seem much more likely.. than not.. LIFE JUST GOES ON.. BUT BECOMES IMMATERIAL.. INFORMATION.. rather like the way virtual reality does..

Taking into consideration our entire universe came from NOTHING.. IT SEEM HIGHLY LIKELY SOMETHING MORE COULD COME FROM ALL THIS..

“The illusion that the self and the world are broken into fragments originates in the kind of thought that goes beyond its proper measure and confuses its own product with the same independent reality. To end this illusion requires insight, not only into the world as a whole, but also into how the instrument of thought is working. Such insight implies an original and creative act of perception into all aspects of life, mental and physical, both through the senses and through the mind, and this is perhaps the true meaning of meditation.”

Me and my cousin want to leave our bodies to a haunted house but our mums won't let us...

We think it would be super spooky, walking about expecting everything to be fake then something isn't... 8O

I have, yes. I believe that we go into a void, but whether that is true I cannot say.

I think more about what is happening during my life than what may or may not happen when I die. I am content to let the mystery be.

I believe it's the energy we carry through life. So we die with either negative or positive and go on as we do in life, wandering on this world or maybe others. I mean i believe in spirits and all so could be possible.

Yes I have.

And I suppose there are 2 things here,
What a person thinks/expects/believes will happen to them after they die
and
What actually will happen to a person after they die.

So I expect the thing is, how to determine, if at all possible, what the thing that actually will happen is; and then, what to do about that if there is a thing which can be done.

And it appears humanity is not unanimous on that, other than on the point that after you die, your body is dead.

The body is dead but as everything is made of energy, the soul reincarnates into another body, unless the body died an untimely or unnatural death then the soul gets stuck on the earth plane, this is why we have prisons, and derelict mental hospitals that have a weird vibe about them and haunted houses.
