If Y came from X, then why does are there still X?

I'm not sure what the argument is. The way you framed it, you appear to be asking:
IF an ingredient is needed to produce something, why are there still left-over ingredients after manufacture? Why don't we use up ALL the resources to make a product?
Look, I only slaughtered a few of the cows for the hamburgers. Didn't need to kill them all, didn't want to waste resources. Still have some around to produce more milk. Gonna bring the bulls around, and they'll make more cattle, so we can have more hamburgers and milk in the future. THE CIRCLE OF LIFE.
What is your real question?

As I explained above: his "real question is"..."why do Young Earth Creationists use this argument: ' if man evolved from apes why are there still apes?'".
They know humans didn't evolve from apes, so they're amusing themselves?
Dude...I said that it is an..."argument" . An argument that they use as part of their arsenal to attempt to debunk evolution. They think that the fact the "apes are still around" somehow disproves that apes could be the ancestors of humans in Darwinian style evolution.
Trying to prove Young Earth Creationism via science has kinda gone out of fashion in the last few years. Evangelical preachers admit on camera that "arguing for it with logic and science doesnt really work, so we dont try anymore.".
But for decades that was a big thing. YECs trying to prove YEC via scientific evidence. And that "why are apes still around" meme was common then.

Earlier, it was stated that scientists say, "humans did not evolve from apes".
So, if they wanted to debunk , all they would have to do is cite a reputable scientist.
Likely, they are tricky, and use the "if Y came from X" argument to try and trap people into arguing something contrary to science -- that humans did evolve from apes.
There is probably name for this type of argumentation device.

It's not a *strawman* because a *strawman* is a false representation of your opponent's argument.
This is a false representation of your argument.
It seems like a gambit argument.
1. You present an absurd argument that superficially seems to support your position.
2. Your gambit is that you hope your opponent impulsively jumps on it.
3. Your gambit is that you hope your opponent *only* sees the logic is wrong, and not understand the underlying substance because of the impulsivity.

Okay... so you are a science denying Young Earth Creationist yourself.
But at least you admit that folks on your side who use the argument in question to advance your belief (at the expense of science and of all logic) are making a dumb self defeating argument. That something!

What people on this topic are saying, is what you would find if you did a google search.
"Humans did not evolve from apes, gorillas or chimps"
https://www.livescience.com/32503-why-h ... umans.html
"Humans did not evolve from monkeys"
https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/evolution/libr ... cat02.html
When a YEC (Young Earth Creationist) says it in the form of "If Y Came From X, Then Why Are There Still X?", you appear to get confused, and not realize that according to reputable scientists, "Y Came From X" did not happen. So, "Y Came From X" is a false premise.
Not realizing that a YEC is making a false premise, you're unable to determine that "If Y Came From X, Then Why Are There Still X?", is logical, valid and consistent by the rules of logic, since "Y Came From X" is a false premise.
Argument from false premises
https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argum ... e_premises
"Since the premise (assumption) is not correct, the conclusion drawn may also be wrong"
Earlier, you asked, why would they do it?
I suggested they do it for amusement. Maybe to trap people, like you appear trapped into believing the false premise and wrongly concluding it's not a logical argument.

The sites you went to are just playing semantic games.
Humans DID in fact evolve from non human primates, that we would today classify as apes. But not from any species of living ape.
Its not my fault that Creationists use dumb arguments to advance creationism. So dont blame me for their dumb arguments.
