I don't know, this page on LGBT rights in Poland don't pain a pretty picture on some recent trends. Like the president of Poland in 2020 trying to amend the constitution to specifically ban homosexual couples from adopting, the government suing a company for firing a person who was homophobic. And the mentions of LGBT free zones seemed to backed up by the Council of Europe, which quotes at the time 58 local government entities of specifically opposing "LGBT ideology".

It is not that LGBT people are prevented from adopting, but unmaried couples are. There are no homosexual marriages in Poland and never were. On the other hand in Poland homosexuality was not penalized. People can live in unmaried homosexual pairs in Poland, nobody cares about it and never did. For example in Germany until 1994 homosexuals were sent to jail in Poland somewhere between 1920 and 1930 openly homosexual Karol Szymanowski was rektor of Chopin University of Music and nobody cared about his private life.
Council of Europe you say? Check who was president of it since 2014 to 2019. Oh, it was this guy: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E6rCqt6WEAEKg5-.png He was also head od political party who is rivals of current polish government and never missed occasion to throw s**t on their political opponents both when he was working as polish and european politician. He still support creating fake news to undermine his opponents. And he of course got this job in Council of Europe becouse he was assisted by german government. During his career in it, he always supported german buisness against polish. As I said, this man have no his own political oppinions. He just loves money above all and will vote for all which sells.
About firing a person who was homophobic I dont know a story, but it can be something about freedom of speech was violated here. I dont know.
