I don't know if this relates to this but I have a friend who is black and she thinks that the republican party is racist against POC. But she said that anyone who is non-white who is a republican is an 'Uncle Tom'. But I found this to be a pretty judgmental statement as saying that POCs are not true to themselves, if they only join a certain political party. But does that is that relate-able to this in anyway?

But even if she isn't I still don't think she has the right to call all POC Uncle Toms if they choose a certain party. I mean that's a pretty judge mental thing to say to label all non-white people as I think...

In my view if an African American female has a problem with Larry Elder or Candace Owens supporting the republican party that's their freedom to do so. Elder and Owens are also free to be Trumpites.

But why does everyone in republican party have to be pro-Trump? Can't you just want to be part of a party and still not like Trump, even though you prefer the party? The party was started long before Trump came along even so it's not like he is the whole party I don't think.

There are moments in history (2016 and 2020) where people have to think about the good of their country and not their blind faith in a political party,

It;s like living in Germany in 1933 and defending voting for the Nazis because you like their goosestepping.

But I don't think America is as bad nowadays as 1930s Germany, is it?

Germany in the 1920s was one of the most enlightened societies in Europe in terms of the arts, sciences and technology, It's path from a renaissance country to a authoritarian Nazi hell hole happened in the space of a few years. It's a cautionary tale for any country that thinks they are above descending into a zombie apocalypse.

Again, the wrong people making judgements about a topic that's literally none of their business.

The only people who can state whether "anti-racism" harms them are black people or PoC.

Honestly I don't know why black Americans don't retaliate back at all these self-entitled MAGAs and their ilk who think they have some god given right to make judgements about what constitutes too much anti-racism. Those idiots are the ones who created this mess.

Well Darryl Brooks certainly "retaliated" against a lot of Whites in Waukesha. Is that the sort of thing you had in mind?

If you talk to black people long enough, whilst living in a multi-cultural city & you know how they feel about certain issues - then you can, as a white person, talk about those issues with knowledge & perspective and empathy.

Wokeologists don't like this because they don't interact with black people, and other white people speaking with knowledge about black issues threatens their power and so they claim that no white person can speak about black people - because they themselves cannot.

It is a very narcissistic & damaging behaviour.

Oh I see. Well I have white friends who are more liberal for example, but I don't call them 'Uncle Toms' for not being more conversative, in comparison...

Polls of African Americans themselves (such as Pew) find 70-80% have experienced racism or consider American to be racist or are scared of the police. That percentage is reasonably consistent across the board. This type of data is exactly why republicans claim universities are "woke" or that kids are being exposed to dangerous CRT in schools.

It doesn't work that way. The "uncle tom" pejorative is specifically used by members of the African American community against members of their own community who are perceived by some to have sold out.

I see what you mean. I just wasn't sure what term I would use for a white person selling out, so I used a more cliched term, but didn't mean to use the incorrect terminology.

White people don't really have a racial identity as such in the US, so there really isn't a similar term. Give it some time though, enough of this woke anti white messaging might just change that, and likely not for the better.
