Thats my point. The aliens coulda wiped us out centuries ago. They have interstellar space travel...so they have to be a zillion years ahead of us in weapons.
So the fact that we are still here shows that the aliens are choosing not to bulldoze down our habitat because they think of us as a pathetic vulnerable "endangered species" worthy of protection. But for most of history they were protecting us from they the aliens themselves- keeping their own real estate developers at bay. But since 1945 the aliens also need to protect us...from us ourselves. Because we have the atom bomb now. And it worked! The aliens managed to steer us through the decades of the cold war without us inflicting MAD on each other. So ALIENS...where are you now?
