Think about it:

Suppose the Dollar, Pound, or Euro became worth 50 cents or pence (or less) within a week?

The Ruble was about 70 rubles to the dollar when the war started; now it's about 150 rubles to the dollar.

Imagine if a 20 ounce bottle of soda became $4.00, instead of $2.00, within a week?

We're certainly going to need a Marshall Plan-type situation in Ukraine, when and if the war ends.

Definitely. It's being devastated the way continental Europe was in WWII.

Yep....lots of construction jobs, for sure.

As well as all manner of trades.....plumbers, electricians, engineers.

Now....let's get this war ended so they can reap the benefits of the reconstructrion.

If it was simple like that...
Ukrainian capitulation would mean oppressive regime, resistance and repressions. Nothing of the feast I mean.
Strong Western intervention could escalate to a nuclear holocaust.
The option I see would be to help Ukraine stay alive while Russia bleeds.
Lots of suffering in the meantime

My hope is that this "capitulation" will not be full-throttle----and that the pain of the sanctions would be employed should Russia deign to exact revenge upon the Ukrainian populace.

That won't be enough.
The masks have dropped, we're dealing with a new incarnation of Russian Empire / USSR. One can't hope they act in civilized ways, they're showing they don't.
The only hope is to win, by either military, economic, or mixed means.

I wouldn't count on it. The grip on Russians themselves is being tightened, media are getting under strict control, there are plans on cutting out external Internet entirely... this empire is built on fear and lies. That's why brave and freedom-loving Ukrainians are perceived as such a threat and subjected to horrible treatment, both now and in the past. When your world order is based on fear, a brave person is a threat.
But there are enough Russians happy to keep it that way

Russians have been fed this fear and these lies for much longer. They would need a nation-wide C-PTSD therapy.
