I'm also thinking that if was in a hurry he could have easily asked to jump the queue or just gone to the front and gave the money to the cashier instead of giving it to me.

You'd end up going nuts if you lived with my GF, maybe that's why I don't find it an issue as I've had to read misspelled words for over 2 and half decades, even autocorrect has difficulties with her writing
. I would post one of her shopping lists that she'd handwritten, but I don't want to cause you physical pain.
