My idealized Biden is definitely younger, but is not an Alpha male. There is lot that Biden manages to get done by directing behind the scenes and allowing others to take credit, instead of banging at the public gates. I follow a political history professor who often writes up things Biden has accomplished that aren't gaining headlines; if the professor's perspective is true, Biden could end going down in history as one of our most effective presidents. It will be interesting to see it play out. So me personally, I'm done with Alpha male leaders who will act "decisively" whether its the right move or not; I think they've harmed us as a nation. We can't have gamma's like Carter in the Oval office, either, but Beta works for me.

Well...even Freud might admit that "sometimes a pogo stick is just a pogo stick".

(if you get my drift)

I agree on every point pretty much.

The Biden I voted for was the more vigorous acting Biden who served as Obama's VP only a few years ago. But age, and the death of one of his sons, have obviously taken a toll. But even the present day sub par Biden is more compentent about getting things done than most pols are even in their prime. Whether "alpha" or even male, or not.

I guess it depends on whose definition one is using.

My intent was to simply pick a strong leadership type that isn't Alpha.

He looks pretty good with a beard.

American presidents stopped having facial hair back in pre First World War days (Taft, and TR were the last I believe).

Right after the second world war the GOP ran Dewey against Truman, and Dewey had a little mustache that made him "look like the groom on a wedding cake". And he was the last serious candidate with facial hair to even run.

And in this instance perhaps not.

Had a dream about Biden. He was on stage doing a speech and was an alpha male instead of a beta male with Alzheimers. It was an alternate dimension where I was proud to be an American. The country overall had more prosperity and better wealth distribution. He was on stage and made a joke involving White people and China, but said it in such a way as not to offend either. Then a Northern politician entered the stage. Then after that I went to a restaurant and there was a hot gay guy at the restaurant.

The Biden with Alzheimer's exists only in the imaginings of the hateful right.

Not just the Right. Also the "I always vote 3rd party because both the Democrats and Republicans are Neoconservatives in the pocket of Wall Street" Left.
