Trump
The MAGA's love Trump more than the Never Trumpers hate him. The former will line up behind DJT, while saner republicans will have their vote split between DeSantis and the various other schmucks who don't stand a chance--or they will throw their hands up at the state of their party and just stay home.

I generally agree with The Walrus's and naturalplastic's thinking on this question.

Where I do disagree is about Trump croaking. They will vote for the dead man because that would be the ultimate "piss off the snowflakes"/"own the libs" move.

I actually agree, although it depends on when Trump dies. If he dies before the convention then I don't think he gets nominated. If he dies afterwards then people will still vote for him, and his running mate probably becomes President automatically if "they" win.

His running mate will probably even farther right than him (and probably a good deal smarter).

Trump running mate? President RFK?

You just made me...soil my pants!

Both because of how bad that would be, and because of how non-unlikely it would be that Trump would pick him.

If it would help him trigger the libs and RINO's I'm sure you could convince Trump to make any number of unlikely people his running mate. I doubt he'll go for someone so basic and bland as Pence again.

I feel as though Trump is going to get the nomination & that there is no-one else close to being able to challenge him.

I doubt he'll get imprisoned before the presidential election, if ever.
