What are the advantages of dictatorships

I don't know if historically we as human beings were used to in the past, used to being told what to do by one person or one group of people in charge going back as far back as the Pharoahs of Ancient Egypt or maybe even earlier. I don't know if its still prevalent in some cultures in parts of the world like in Asia like for example in China, the Communist party has been in charge since 1949, before that it was the Nationalists, and before that there were the Emperors and Empresses etc.
