I think a key feature of the far right is to convince the masses to vote against their best interests.

How do they achieve that? Historically through demonization of minorities and lies/disinformation. The internet has proven to be an extremely effective method to spread mass disinformation. They have people doubting basic facts and believing blatant lies. It spans from demonizing minorities (from antisemitic conspiracies to falsely painting LGBT people as predators and completely destroying the definition of "groomer") to just lies about everything in general (including science, medicine, history, election validity, politics, etc.).

It astounds me that an elite, born into wealth, like Trump can come about and convince so many hard working poor people that he isn't an elite and is for them. Truthfully astounding beyond reason. Notice he has no solutions for improving the lives of working class people, he just has claims that immigrants are stealing jobs, social security. Meanwhile his actual policies (like giving more tax cuts to the absurdly rich) do nothing but make it harder for hard working people to make ends meet. It's so absurd.

I know that disinformation is strong in this age, but seriously, how can you fall for HIM? Come on, people. :wall:

In my opinion Farage forced Cameron's Tories to call an EU referendum which eventually took us out of the EU which has been a social and economic disaster imo. Now he's in parliament he can wreak even more misery on the British people.

The meaning of the word "far right" has changed

When i was younger it meant a Nazi skinhead nutcase into Hitler etc..

Now its used to describe anyone wanting to limit immigration to reasonable numbers or not supporting globalism.

So they watered down the word far right to use as a weapon against anyone who disagrees with them

I agree with these. There is a meaning shift and weaponization by the mass media. In Europe the slight centralization of power of the European commission has pushed countries to act against their own interests, and largely in the interests of the USA and project Ukraine. The sanctions and economic turmoil from the war have created a lot of pressure on the working poor. The "far right" parties although they do have a bit of racism and xenophobia all seem to be a reaction against this power from Brussels, speaking to the working class, trying to push for more localized "sovereign control", supporting local industry. Whether or not they will do this is still a question.

I say, if one insists on sticking to only one direction, they're just going around in circles.
