are the "grapes sour"?

Care to explain further?

It's based on the Aesop fable about the fox and the grapes, where a fox tries to eat some grapes on a vine but can't reach them, so rather than admit defeat he says, "Anyone can see those grapes are sour".

Basically, "sour grapes" means saying something negative out of envy or something like that.

I don't know where you live Babybird but may be if you cannot watch this others can. I saw this on the BBC website today about faith and comedy on the Songs of Praise. I have started watching it myself and I will watch the rest tonight.

I also wrote this post about The Chronicles of Narnia and my faith which has a comedy element to it.

I joined ticktock, its not for me, but I wanted to put a family member video on there and just made a short one of my own based on the supernatural theme and Alex Mack etc.

I saw that there are a number of religious comedy ones on TickTock and you can see some I think by not signing in. I am not looking for followers myself or to follow anyone on there.

You see here for an example of a comedy one and good luck to them-

This is mine, that is not my name, I just like from the Bible as Chosen was called but not Chosen by God.

I don't know many modern comedians but the funniest writer I ever read was G. K. Chesterton and he was deeply Catholic. In one of his books he explicitly condemns what he calls the "careless solemnity" of many clergymen and says that it's the wrong attitude to think of God with. Very, very fascinating writer, strongly recommend his essays and his novel (I've only read TMWWT, but I'm interested in reading Napoleon of Notting Hill and his Father Brown stories, too)!

If you look at religious beliefs with humour then religion and it's preachers loses much of it's power. To work it has to be taken deadly serious. In that sense Comedy is pretty much the enemy of the Church.

Anything loses power if it's mocked like that. Including atheism and all ideologies. But I agree, I dislike the tendency that some clergymen have for solemnity and austerity. G. K. Chesterton, a Catholic writer I personally love, said that those "careless solemnities" were almost cardinal sins due to how damaging they can be pastorally/ in catechism and evangelism. He was one of the most humourous writers I've ever read, especially in his essays. He once said in one of his books, it may have been Heretics, "Let your religion be less of a theory and more of a love affair." To take joy and laugh are essential to the love affair.
