This is a special forum. It is for debating and as such pretty much anything goes provided it stays within the site rules and the following guidelines. It is more or less freedom of speech. It doesn't matter if some people have obnoxious or ill-informed opinions regarding politics, religion or virtually anything else. People can debate and criticize any religion, atheism, political party, public figures etc. Just because some members may belong to a particular religion (or atheism) or political party, does not exclude it from debate. If people want to criticize atheism that is fine. Criticise Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Paganism, Confucianism, Judaism, Satanism, Scientology etc all fine too.

Even so, we seem to be circle-jerking most of the time.

I am not aware of any other conservatives who regularly post on this site. Maybe I am forgetting someone.

A lot of the conservatives ragequit around when Alex clarified the rules regarding how we handle racism on the website.

A few of the more prominent ones had mostly become lurkers prior to that, and a few still pop in to attempt to stir s**t up before f*****g off again.

Not to mention that there might be some who choose to not argue politics extensively.

Persephone29 and dox47 come to mind.

There's also a handful of people who embrace single issues that are stereotypically viewed as conservatives, but don't seem to embrace all conservative positions (mostly thinking of the various antichoice posters).

I thought Honey69 was asking about recent posters, not people who quit or got banned years ago.

The news story is from a site based in Dallas, Texas. Texas is in the Bible Belt and is a "red" state.

We would be purple, maybe blue if it wasn't for Abbott's voter suppression/misinformation apparatus--which is as bad, if not worse, than Trump's.

Ya I thought we were getting more purple and then in the last election I think Trump did better in Texas than the time before. I would like for Texas to become more purple than it is now. I still think its only a matter of time before Texas goes blue.

It isn't just income. Ideally the guy should also have enough saved for a down payment on the mortgage.

There are couples with enough income but haven't saved enough to buy a home.

Ya I think those couples would be called HENRYs. Even with a big income it can take some time to save up for a 20 percent downpayment.

I've never voted conservative in my life. Strange how I (and many others) have conservative views yet are labour supporters. I'm a labour supporter and I'll always vote labour, maybe because it feels safe, I don't know. Starmer is a different story though, it seems like he's more conservative than a labour MP should be. I'm disappointed in him.

As the last conservative, do you wish to make a statement in favor of women foregoing education, career and independence so that they can focus on keeping the kitchen counters clean and making babies?

I remember my aunt telling me that girls were discouraged from getting too much education (which, at the time, probably meant finishing high school) because educated girls had a hard time finding husbands.
