Read Marvin Harris' "Cannibals and Kings" for a more
likely rationale as to why pigs are a taboo in the Middle
East, yet nowhere else.

Or you could just tell us, since we probably won't...

That depends upon how you define "anyone."

Criticizing Islam is a bannable offence here? Thats disturbing in its own right. But just so you know, its quite possible to be against the precepts of Islam, and NOT be a Zionist supporter.

Or are we to believe that the inscrutable grasp of fascist jewry has reached out its cold fingers and seized hold of all those who dislike Islam and its ways? Has this forum become the last refuge for those who are not servants of the Terrible Evil of international Jewish conspiracy?

Paranoia.. the staple diet of conspiracy.

In these days of world brutality and violence if you're not paranoid you're not sane.

There's healthy paranoia.. a natural distrust of politicians, who are proven time and time again to be doing something at odds to what they claim.. and theres the tinfoil hat, aliens use my fillings for radio broadcast, everyone is out to get me paranoia. All this zionist bollocks is the second.

In these days? That seems to indicate that there were days when all sorts of folks weren't out to screw others for their own benefit.

Topic that got my second banning.

Not precisely sure WHY, although I think it had a lot to do with a certain moderator that isn't a moderator any longer.

The first time I got banned was for flaming a Muslim that said all non-Muslims should be killed or forcibly converted. Or rather, I flamed his prophet.

I think "apprehensive" is what you mean. "Paranoia" is by definition irrational.

It's true, exercizing one's free speech against Islam is dangerous on all fronts -- as opposed to flaming Christianity or Judaism for sport, which is often encouraged, and never retaliated against. And, when I say "free speech against Islam", I'm talking about simply quoting Muslims or the Koran. These kinds of facts aren't allowed; simply reporting statements that a Muslim or the Koran makes can get you banned/silenced from many discussion arenas, and in some cases, even fired from your job. As most people already realize, "free speech" is a joke.

That is actually disturbing. But then this is why, of the many religions i choose not to follow, i prefer not following christianity, because they arent usually given to beheading you for apostasy. That and I like my beard optional. Not following Islam is a much more dangerous pastime.

Which is what I find morbidly amusing about this whole Zionist conspiracy thing. Everyone gets all shitted up about a theology thats not all that different from christianity, shares the same roots, and generally doesnt cause all that much trouble. A religion thats often diometrically opposed, has a tendency towards holy wars, and often openly admits to hating christianity and the west.. nah, theyre fine they are. No issues there....

(I just know someone is going to jump on that "causing trouble line" so I'll clarify. When was the last time Jewish armies marched against christianity? When was the last time jews EVER declared an open hatred for the entire of western civilisation? When was the last time gangs of jewish kids roamed the schoolyards of the UK beating up the white kids?)

Well, the whole argument is
pretty complex, but it really boiled
down to deforestation. The eco-system
in the near east (mid east to those who
have bought in to newer ways) was very
fragile (as shown by the fact that it WAS
destroyed eventually). Pigs would have
wrecked it. Pigs are VERY good converters
of vegetable mass to proteins, and most
societies embraced them. Pretty much all
of the taboos and religious practices can be
traced to such arguments. Cannibalism tends
to happen where meat supplies are weak, for
example.
