To be honest, Tim, it's your run-of-the-mill every day Christians that give Christianity a bad name.

I'm just sayin'.

How could I have forgotten the JW's? Drr.

All of the Christians I know practice "Do as I say, not as I do".
It gets old after a while. Downright sickening, I might add.
That and the majority of them get mighty threatened when you start suggesting the bible is full of sh!t.

Baptists (particularly Independent Fundamental Baptists, the Westboro Baptist Church, and Southern Baptists) or Pentecostals (the people who speak in tongues and handle snakes).

I saw a documentary on them in my Cultural Anthropology class last year. They were throwing live poisonous snakes around a room. One man was bitten by a snake and might have died if the film makers hadn't convinced him to go to a hospital. They also talked about how they drink strychnine.

I didn't see an option for "people who complain about Christianity when the worst of the worst of the loony Christian sects are better than all but the most radically liberal Muslims", so I have to call this poll a bunch of crap.

Bet you don't know a single Christian.

Well, I wouldn't bet the farm, chief.
I did say ALL, which is a numerical figure unequal to or higher than 'none'.

Nice well thought out response, though *thumbs up*

Any sect that preaches hate and intolerance, instead of the all-consuming Love of which Jesus spread, is the silliest form of the Christian faith. So, in other words, 90% of all Christianity.

Moreover, before this gets any Christian on the defensive it's important to note that I attended a Catholic High School, have had numerous encounters with every major Christian sect, and have explored the Mormon, Episcopalian, Catholic, Lutheran, and Presbyterian faiths on my spiritual path. They all talk about "loving the sinner, but hating the sin," yet their actions speak much differently and, as we all know, talk is cheap.

I tried a few denominations, too, but eventually decided that I had better things to do on a Sunday morning.

So you don't consider Messianic Judaism/Christianity to be silly? That's good! :wtg:

well, they could be considered half silly then :P

They observe the sabbath, right?
They would claim that they are the closest to how early christianity was, and perhaps they are.
